But it's claimed PSG's Champions League elimination at the hands of Manchester United - and their recent slump in form - have prompted him to a rethink.
It's now reported that Neymar is keen to leave the French giants ahead of this summer's transfer window.
Real Madrid are among the teams chasing Neymar, who is believed to be valued at £300m by the French club.
He has scored 50 goals in 57 appearances for PSG as part of a formidable strike force alongside Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani. But his two-year spell in France has been fraught with controversy and friction.
Only this week the Brazilian was reportedly involved in a 'heated dressing-room bust-up' with team-mate Julian Draxler following PSG's defeat by Montpellier.
And reports in Germany suggest PSG are already making plans to cope with Neymar's potential departure.
Bild claim the Ligue 1 side are eyeing a huge summer move for Real Madrid's James Rodriguez if Neymar leaves the French capital to go the other way.
PSG threw away a 2-0 first-leg lead against United as they crashed out at the last-16 stage and, though Tuchel's side landed the Ligue 1 title, they have won just once in their past six games.

he has contract till 2022 which means for three more years he will value up to £200 mil. it's hard that a club will try to buy him for such a big amount. I don't see any club buy him

if neymar want to be a great player again he should back in Spain in his former club Barca because all philosophy of barca favorite him to play his football otherwise, he will continue to struggle in french. another point is he's in age of making his own history winning different trophies like golden shoes, champion league, and we know Messi he's in end of brillant career so it's good time for neymar to stay at barca as king, I don't see him in Madrid doing well as like in barca, I love him he is really good talented footballer we have now, but all advises of him they should tell him that before talent you have to make sure discipline is always first

Barca should keep an open mind and think about getting him back. It's best for both Barca and Neymar. Neymar will not work at Madrid; he needs someone like Messi to act like a big brother. There's no one like that at Madrid. Zidane can do it for him, but Zidane may lose his patience with someone like Neymar. Barca too needs Neymar as Messi will retire soon and Suarez is not as effective anymore. They need to give time to the youngsters to develop like they gave to Xavi, Iniesta and Messi and till that time Neymar can work with Messi. It is ideal for both parties involved.
