Neymar is unlikely to sign for Juventus with the Serie A giants already having to cut costs to sign Paul Pogba.

The Paris Saint-Germain star has been offered to many top clubs across Europe including Juventus for £43million - though the Italian side are already on the verge of signing Pogba, who is leaving Manchester United upon the expiry of his contract this week.

While Juventus fans are dreaming of the Brazilian superstar playing in the black and white at the Allianz Stadium this coming season, it is one move that is unlikely to come true.

Juventus chairman Andrea Agnelli is having to cut costs, with Pogba set to be one of the club's highest earners when he arrives.

Pogba is set to sign an €8million-per-year (£6.8m) deal at the Bianconeri plus bonuses, and the club's economic situation would make it tough for them to offer something similar to the Brazilian forward who is on sky-high wages at PSG worth £24m-per-year.

In recent weeks, Mattia De Sciglio and Mattia Perin have had new contracts with 40% cuts to their salaries, while the likes of Giorgio Chiellini, Paulo Dybala and Federico Bernardeschi are all leaving as free agents.

This would save the club €45million (£38.8m), though Neymar's total package would come up to about €60m (£51.7m) which would exceed what the Italian club could be able to pay.

The coronavirus pandemic has ruined Juventus' economic situation and now every operation must be carefully considered.

Juventus, like Barcelona who have also been offered Neymar, would only be able to afford the 30-year-old on a loan deal.

Spanish publication Don Balon, reported that PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi left the door open for Neymar to leave the club, as his idea is to build a team with more French stars.

RMC Sport report that Neymar did not like what Al-Khelaifi said and is now observing other offers.

Juventus fans feel the signings of Pogba, Neymar and the previous signing of now Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo, would demonstrate the strength of the club to attract the best players across Europe.

Fans were furious with the club for allowing Dybala to leave the club at the end of his contract, with the fan favourite close to signing a four-year deal with bitter rivals Inter Milan.

Signing Neymar would be the antidote capable of restoring the feeling between the fans and the club.

No negotiations though have taken place between the two clubs about any move.

Juventus are pushing hard in the transfer market to bring in new recruits, in order to give manager Massimiliano Allegri a competitive team - after they finished fourth in Serie A last season.
