Nicolas Pepe joined his new Arsenal team-mates for his first training session on Friday, just 24 hours after completing a £72 million move to the Emirates.

The winger completed a series of strength training exercises at the club's London Colney gym, as he worked on his lower body and core strength.

Pepe linked up with team-mate Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang for a kettlebell swing exercise, which is designed to strengthen players' hamstrings and core.

After finishing his gym work, the 24-year-old then went out on to the training pitch and showed glimpses of his ability with some possession, finishing and running drills.

Pepe reportedly turned down an offer from Liverpool in favour of a move to Arsenal because Reds boss Jurgen Klopp couldn't guarantee him a first team place.

Yesterday an old video also surfaced on social media of the Ivory Coast international claiming he would only join Chelsea if he was to ever move to England.

Last season Pepe was hugely impressive for Lille as he scored 22 goals and provided 11 assists in 38 appearances in Ligue 1.

Pepe became Arsenal's fourth signing of the summer, following on from Gabriel Martinelli, Dani Ceballos and William Saliba, with the latter having returned to Saint-Etienne on loan.
