No free shirt numbers left at Barcelona: Who will wear the No.10?

Barcelona have confirmed that Memphis Depay, Eric Garcia and Rey Manaj have been registered with LaLiga and will be eligible to play in the opening match of their LaLiga Santander season against Real Sociedad on Sunday.

Whilst the vast majority of the players have received their squad numbers for the upcoming season, that has not been the case for Rey Manaj.

Lionel Messi's No.10 shirt is the only number still available, following the Argentine's move to Paris Saint-Germain.

Should Manaj be named in the Blaugrana's matchday squad for Sunday's fixture, he could be in line to wear the No.10 shirt, given that all members in the matchday squad must have a number between No.1 and No.25.

However, whether Manaj wears that shirt number this is dependent on whether another squad member chooses to take it or not.

The reluctance of the Barcelona squad members to wear the Argentine's former shirt number was clear in the Joan Gamper Trophy, as none of them did so.

Departures

One of the ways in which the No.10 shirt can remain free is if, in the coming hours, Barcelona sell a player who would normally be in the matchday squad, such as Philippe Coutinho or Miralem Pjanic.

As a result, this would create a free space in the squad, meaning that no one would have to wear Messi's former shirt number.
