Liverpool have completed the signing of high-rated Brazil goalkeeper Alisson Becker from Serie A side Roma for a record €72.5m fee.
Roma confirmed the fee taking the 26-year-old to Anfield was €62.5m plus €10m in bonuses, making Alisson the most expensive goalkeeper of all time.
Alisson has been linked with a Roma exit all summer and was believed to be closed to join Real Madrid or Chelsea until they pulled out of the running. Now he is officially a Liverpool player after Reds paid a fee that broke the transfer record of goalkeepers held by Gianluigi Buffon since 2001.
After the horrible error in Champions League final, Loris Karius may make his way for Alisson at Anfield Stadium from 2018-19 season on.
Alisson completed a €7.5 million transfer from Internacional to Roma where he initially served as understudy to Wojciech Szczesny before breaking into the starting line-up last season, during which he made 66 saves from shots inside the penalty area in Serie A in 2017/18, more than any other goalkeeper for a top-half side.
Being defeated by Liverpool in semifinals, the Brazil goalkeeper made 46 saves in the 2017/18 Champions League, at least 14 more than any other goalkeeper in the competition.
The 25-year-old represented Brazil at various youth levels before making his senior international debut in 2015, whereafter he has gained 31 appearances for the Selecao, including 5 caps at his first ever World Cup campaign.
Statement Official
Liverpool FC have completed the signing of goalkeeper Alisson Becker from AS Roma.
The 25-year-old signed a long-term contract with the Reds after undergoing a medical and completing the formalities of his switch at Melwood today.
Upon putting pen to paper, the Brazil international told Liverpoolfc.com: "I'm really happy, it's a dream come true to wear such a prestigious shirt for a club of this size that is used to always winning.
"In terms of my life and my career, it's a huge step for me being part of this club and this family.
"You can be certain that I'll give my all."
Alisson, who began his career with Internacional in his homeland, was Brazil's No.1 at the World Cup in Russia this summer.

Well that was a job well done am. happy with the results we had in the transfer window though we weren't able to get some of the players we desired at least the team is much more better than before and it seems that next season we would happen to be a much more compatible team fighting for glory and making our way into history, definitely getting Alison was the right choice we needed a player of his quality and caliber all along at least we won't worry about conceding goals anymore and with fabinho in our defense would be in penetrable he is very talented with lots of experience which makes him a very good player keita would be a blast next season.... GOOD LUCK 👊 WELCOME ALISON YOUR NOT ALONE

Wow Liverpool have been busy this transfer window but they should know that different players come with different skills, the patterns of play, and aspirations.what made also Liverpool hot last season was the fact that their starting 11 was untouchable, that the likes of Fabiano, shakiri, nabil keita are around nobody will like to be a benchwarmer and that’s where attitude comes in. Which may end up destroying the unity in their locker room just like what was happening to psg last season when they signed Neymar (psg’s case wasn’t noticeable because their league isn’t competitive enough but this is the premier league we are talking about it doesn’t get harder than this ) Anyhow u wish Liverpool the best 😎😎[trumpet][trumpet][Cheers][Cheers][trumpet][trumpet]

Ever since the Reds signed Van Dijk- It seems that every position has been upgraded- Grüsse Gluck to The Mighty Reds- I think top 3 team in EPL at least- And now you arshlochs and haters can leave young Karius and his wife alone- I seem to remember Griezmann's long range shot almost from the same spot that Bale's 2nd g in the CL final doing the same thing to the top Uruguayan GK, like the ball separated the hands and fell into the goal- And I didn't hear any threats towards him- Now maybe he can be an understudy and feel inner peace- As a lifelong Reds supporter- I was disgusted when the only players to console this obviously shaken young GK were Bale and Nacho(From RMFC)I felt for a bit that the song we sing every match had become a meaninglessness, rubbish chant- Because not 1 Reds player was near the young kid- Until I saw Carra, And then Kloppo offering some solace- Where were you Hendo?- Some Captain 🖕 - You Will indeed Never Walk Alone- C'Mon You Reds- EPL,CL,FA cup,And many other honours should await you- I cried when I saw Salah get mugged- But I guess no- one else noticed Ramos punching Karius in the ribs just before the Benzema goal- You'll be alright, Karius- And the entire Football World better be ready for a Reds resurgence, Because It's Coming!- YNWA!- ALL of you!

All the fans gave us a bunch of shit for buying a defender for 60m and 35m on a keeper... Liverpool spend 80m on a defender and 70m on a keeper sooo where’s all the haters?😂
