Man City have filed an official appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against the two-year ban from UEFA competitions.
The CAS has also confirmed that they have received the appeal from Man City:
City were handed a two-year suspension from competing in European competitions by UEFA earlier this month while the reigning Premier League champions also received a £25million fine for FFP breaches.
City's punishment sent shockwaves across Europe but they have now registered an appeal in a bid to quash their suspension for 'serious breaches' of UEFA's financial fair play rules.

the ban will get reduced to 1 season, this will be after a lengthy court battle, city will compete in next year's champs league, they will miss the 1 after, giving them ample time to prepare, the fine will be upheld or Incresed in leu of the second year falling away, UEFA will feel like theyv won and get alot of people off there back, city will know that it couldv been worse and the punishment is 1 that can be lived with for 1 season, it's a win win but also a lose lose, the best negotiations, and I do call it negotiations usually are that way, it's a harsh enough punishment to warn others off it, and lenient enough for city to feel theyv been punished but to rather leave it and lick there wounds, neither want a long drawn out appeal, it adds uncertainty to the club that's all over the news for the wrong reasons, Mark my words, it will play out this way, may be wrong about a few small details, but, overall it will play out this way
