Bruno Guimaraes has completed his transfer from Lyon to Newcastle United, with the English club paying a reported 50 million euros to make him their all-time record signing. The Brazilian has agreed a four-and-a-half-year contract at the newly rich club.
The 24-year-old midfielder had his medical in Brazil, where he is currently with his national team, and he'll travel to England next week.
"Bruno is a hugely exciting talent and has been one of our primary targets so I'm delighted to secure him," coach Eddie Howe said.
"He strengthens the group immediately ready for the challenge ahead.
"He has been one of the standout performers in France and is a full international for Brazil so I have no doubt our supporters will really enjoy watching him.
"We look forward to welcoming him to the club on his return from international duty."
The midfielder is Newcastle's third addition of the winter market, after Kieran Trippier and Chris Wood.

Newcastle is going to be one of the strongest clubs in Europe in the next 5-8 years. Nobody paid any attention to City around 10 years ago but today it’s second favorite to win UCL 2021/22, only after the super favorite Bayern.
