'Japanese Messi' Kubo leaves Real Madrid to join Real Mallorca on a one-year loan.
The attack-minded player spent four years in the Blaugrana’s La Masia youth academy but had to leave the club in 2015 when Barcelona were sanctioned for signing underage players illegally.
Kubo, who has been nicknamed ‘the Japanese Messi’, then signed for FC Tokyo but he celebrated his 18th birthday earlier this month and was subsequently available to return to European football - with Madrid pouncing.
Kubo spent the whole preseason working with Zinedine Zidane and earn rave reviews from everyone it seems but the first-team coach.

Why do Madrid go and buy these young players to develop only to not develop them but instead send them on unnecessary loans. Surely with all the competitions they're in they could have made room for Kubo. Real Mallorca isnt the kind of team to develop a young player in. Could have at least sent dude off to a more known developmental team like Dortmund....Also what's the deal with Brahim Diaz, is he gonna have his talent wasted cos Madrid keep on bringing players in multitudes to the same position. Kubo and Diaz right against Bale who will never let them start if he stays fit. Zidane needs to start playing on merit and realistically it was time to give Kubo and Diaz a shot as Bale has failed to live up to the mark in the long term....
