Real Madrid C. F. and Toni Kroos have agreed to extend the player's contract, which is linked to the club until June 30, 2024.

After completing the signing of Jude Bellingham for £113m last week, competition for places in Madrid's midfield is fierce, but the Spanish giants have been keen to keep hold of Kroos, and he has now put pen to paper on a new deal.

Madrid announced the news on Wednesday, alongside the caption 'The Story Continues'.

Kroos joined Madrid in 2014 from Bayern Munich, having won the Champions League with the German giants the previous year.

He has since gone on to win European football's biggest trophies on four occasions with Los Blancos during a golden period for the club.

This included a three-peat under Zinedine Zidane, with Madrid triumphing in the Champions League in 2016, 2017 and 2018.

Kroos has also won LaLiga and the Copa del Rey on three occasions each, plus the Club World Cup five times with Madrid.

Across nine seasons at Madrid, Kroos has played 417 games, becoming a mainstay in their midfield.
