Tottenham defender Japhet Tanganga has completed his move to Bundesliga side Augsburg on an initial loan deal.

The 24-year-old will spend the season in the Bundesliga, where the move could become permanent if certain conditions are met.

Taking to Twitter, Spurs confirmed: 'Japhet Tanganga has joined Bundesliga side FC Augsburg on loan for the remainder of the 2023/24 season, with a conditional obligation to make the deal permanent next summer.'

Tanganga made his Tottenham debut in 2019 and has played 50 times for the club.

However, the academy product has struggled for minutes, especially last season.

The former England youth international has two years remaining on his current contract at Tottenham.

However, he could move permanently at the end of the season as long as certain conditions of his loan move at Augsburg are met.

He is one of a host of players Tottenham have tried to move on this deadline dead.

Eric Dier could still depart before the window slams shut, while Brennan Johnson is set to arrive from Nottingham Forest.

There remains interest in Conor Gallagher but it is unclear whether a deal will be done by the end of the window.
