Slovenia’s Damir Skomina will referee the Champions League final between Liverpool and Tottenham.
UEFA's referees committee decided that Skomina will take charge of the final on June 1. He made history this season by overturning the first ever Champions League goal using VAR.
Skomina has a history with English sides — he took charge of England against Belgium at the World Cup and the defeat against Iceland at Euro 2016.
The Slovenian also took charge of the 2017 Europa League final between Manchester United and Ajax, which Jose Mourinho's side won.
The 42-year-old also officiated the 2012 Super Cup final between Chelsea and Atletico Madrid. Atletico won that game 4-1 courtesy of a Radamel Falcao masterclass.
Skomina has refereed Chelsea this season and was also the man who awarded the controversial penalty that saw United beat PSG in the Champions League.
