PSG’s Neymar to miss Bayern Munich second leg with ankle injury

PSG forward Neymar (31) is expected to miss the Champions League last 16 second leg against Bayern Munich, according to a report from Le Parisien. The 31-year-old was subbed off during PSG’s gutsy 4-3 win against Lille on Sunday with an ankle spain. Now, the Brazilian is reportedly suffering from a partial ankle ligament tear that should keep him out of contention for three to four weeks. With the Bayern tie scheduled to take place in two and half weeks, on March 8, it would be a miracle to see Neymar making the trip to the Allianz Arena, let alone feature in the game.

If Neymar is indeed unavailable for three to four weeks, he will therefore miss at least three games. The Brazilian won’t feature against Marseille for the all-important Classique next Sunday and against Nantes for Ligue 1 gameweek 26 as well as against Bayern. Neymar might feature in the trip to Brest the following weekend or against Rennes at home the week after.
