Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser al-Khelaifi on Tuesday said he was in talks with Nice to hire coach Christophe Galtier to replace Mauricio Pochettino at the French champions.
French news outlet L'Equipe on Monday reported Galtier was being lined up to take over at PSG, but that the announcement of his appointment would have to wait until Argentine Pochettino's departure was finalised.
'We have a shortlist of coaches, we are in talks with Nice, this is not a secret,' Qatari Al-Khelaifi told Le Parisien in a detailed interview published on Tuesday.
The club's current manager Pochettino, who was appointed 18 months ago, came under pressure having failed to help PSG break new ground in the Champions League last season, after they were eliminated in the last-16.
Galtier joined Nice ahead of last season having led former club Lille to their first Ligue 1 title since 2011 in the previous campaign.
The two French sides are said to have been in negotiations over the past few days and hope the process will accelerate in the coming days.
PSG hope to announce Galtier's appointment on Thursday with the two clubs close to an agreement that will see the Parisian side pay £8.6m to buy the manager out of his contract in the south of France, according to L'Equipe.
Negotiations between the Parisian side and the Argentine manager's agents are ongoing, with the former Tottenham boss reportedly set to receive €15m (£12.8m) in compensation.
The sum is owed to Pochettino and four members of his backroom staff - Jesus Perez, Miguel D'Agostino, Toni Jimenez and Sebastiano Pochettino.
Until the two sides agree on the terms of their split, PSG are unable to announce Pochettino's successor.
However, even if the terms of his contract still are not finalised Galtier is expected to take charge at the Camp des Loges on July 4 when PSG return to training in preparation to defend their league title.
Al-Khelaifi also appeared to put an end to the constant speculation surrounding France great Zinedine Zidane, dismissing reports that the club had been in talks with the 1998 World Cup winner about becoming their new head coach.
'Many clubs are interested in hiring him, including national teams, but no, we have never been in discussions with him,' he said.

I guess you don't know city legend Tony book and Liverpools Steve mcAmaman and Kenny dalgish
Kenny Dalglish failed as a manager, was sacked and compensated with a non-executive director role. But Klopp who had no prior connection to Liverpool and was an average player, has taken Liverpool forward in leaps... He has done what former players cannot do. Again, your argument falls far from common sense. Try again

Bayern crippled the league 😂😂😂 they don't sign 200m players most of league 1 club's don't have budget close 180m+ mbbape transfer fee was 💀 you say PSG didn't stop anyone from having new owner did Bayern stopped BVB , Berlin , Leipzig etc Lille and monacoo won lately lol 😂 while Leipzig also won dfb pokel and frankfurt won uel yes Lyon and monacoo are now useless in European league so thus PSG
There's a 50+1 rule in Bundesliga that prevents billionaires from owning clubs there and competing against the traditional powerhouses, that's left with Bayern now. There's no Bundesliga team other than Bayern that does well in UCL, Lyon was in the semis 2 years ago, all Italian teams too have been failing consistently... so to say the french league is worse is demonstrably ignorant

if you talk about sucessful club's Liverpool ( Kenny dalgish , Steve mcAman) search in Liverpool website city don't have lengends and present star players are playing but man city one of the most successful captain in 90s won trophies sir Tony book is a managing director in city visit city website while Chelsea has 2 or 3 in board and dumb man utd and arsenal the reason they are no more great after 2015
We know who fills the important positions and they're not these people. City is successful to you but PSG is not? by what metric?... you're asinine.

What about Malouda, Didier Drogba or John Terry?... Why are they not being taken care of by Chelsea? U don't know that Cech works at Chelsea because he speaks multiple languages fluently... it's not because of his playing days alone, he's competent for the job.
club can't give everyone board member ,😂 but atleast Liverpool , city , Chelsea give 1 or 2 players how can everyone get board membership 🤡 name the PSG at least one player after leo got sacked in march

Mbappe didn't come from Lyon. he came from Monaco... do ur fvckin homework. PSG bought less than 3 players from the league, Bayern consistently cripple the league by buying over 10 players from their competitors... The wealth disparity in the Ligue 1 is imbalance, what do u mean by "unfair"?... As if PSG has stopped anyone from having new owners. U are not making sense, cuz despite the disparity, they still compete. Monaco and Lille won the league recently.

That's nonsense... How many Liverpool legends work within the club? How many City legends? How many Invincibles currently work for Arsenal other than Edu? How many Manchester United legends work for United? How many Lille and Lyon legends work within the club other than Juninho Pernambucano?... U talk like it's very common but it's not, after your playing days are over, the club is under no compulsion to maintain relations with you... zero compulsion. And that's why the player is not crying about it, you're crying on his behalf.

Yes, he worked in multiple levels within the club. He's Brazilian but he speaks fluent French and English, he speaks Arabic to talk to his owners, and a bit of Spanish. Ronaldinho can't even speak English well and u think he's a good sporting director straight out of prison because he can juggle a ball and he has appearances... U are just telling me u will never run a successful business in your life.

In the past 6 years, there have been 3 different league winners in the french league, how many in the Bundesliga?... just 1. If PSG follows Bayern format of buying the best players from their best competitors to destroy competition, they'll get better faster.

U stopped at directors when I thought you'll stoop lower to scouts in your reply of deliberate misdirection... Who said former players can't work within a club?... I specifically said "President"... PSG recently sacked sporting director in charge of transfers and contracts was Leonardo Nascimento Araujo, HE WAS A FORMER PSG PLAYER... Totally binning any sense u think you're making. . How successful was he?... Did he do better than Micheal Edwards at Liverpool who has never kicked a ball in his life?... Ronaldinho can't even manage his finances and taxes properly, u think he'll be a good sporting director because he had skills in his playing days... PSG has done well with their recruitment, u just suffer from the bias that only one trophy will suddenly change everything, the champions league. They're the best team in France and they can compete on the market for the very best players. . Your original comment was nonsensical, but your defense of it shows there's deeper levers of stupidity you're still aiming to reach. 🤡
