In the midst of growing tensions following a protest in front of the club’s headquarters, the Collectif Ultras Paris – Paris Saint-Germain’s biggest fan group – have announced that a meeting will be held with the upper management.
Notably, the group intends to bring up the club’s response to the protests, in cancelling part of their ticket allocation for the away match against Troyes last weekend.
Last week’s protests – which were ostensibly brought on by Lionel Messi’s unauthorised trip to Saudi Arabia and his subsequent suspension – culminated in a group of fans showing up to Neymar’s house, and calling for the Brazilian forward to leave the club. The head of the CUP, Romain Mabille, had disapproved of this move, having only called for the demonstration in front of the PSG headquarters.
The CUP’s statement explains that “we do not want this situation to last, and the will of both parties is to find solutions”. According to Le Parisien, the meeting is set to take place before the league leaders’ next game, at home against Ajaccio.
