Paul Pogba could leave Manchester United for Juventus as early as this summer, a new report reveals.

The Frenchman made the switch from Manchester to Turin as an academy star back in 2012 and Italian newspaper Tuttosport have said that amid interest from Juventus, Pogba will 'almost certainly' leave Old Trafford this summer.

Pogba is out of contract in 2022 and United know they lack leverage as they risk losing him for nothing, as they did nine years ago.

Pogba was brought back to Old Trafford for a record £89million in 2016 but has failed to live up to the lofty expectations placed upon him.

Tuttosport revealed that a 'divorce suits everyone' at the end of the season and it will be down to agent Mino Raiola, rather than Pogba or United, as to what happens next for the midfielder.

Pogba is reported to still maintain regular contact with his former Juventus team-mates through WhatsApp.

Andrea Pirlo, now Juventus boss, played alongside Pogba during the Frenchman's spell at the Allianz Stadium.

Pogba spent four seasons in Turin scoring 34 goals and adding 40 assists across 178 appearances.

Back in December the player's agent, Mino Raiola, said the midfielder was 'unhappy' at the club.

Raiola said: 'I can say that it's over for Paul Pogba at Manchester United.

'Paul is unhappy. He is no longer able to express himself as he would like and as expected of him. He has to change teams, he has to change the air.

'He has a contract that will expire in a year and a half, but I think the best solution for the parties is to sell him in the next market.'

Pogba has previously flirted with a move elsewhere, at one time to Real Madrid, but one never materialised.

United want Pogba to commit his future to them and are continuing talks at an extension.

In comparison to Raiola's comments in December, Pogba struck a different tone in January in conversation with Rio Ferdinand.

'I'm on contract, I'm here,' he said.

'I'm enjoying myself. Everyone knows I have one year left. I will speak to the club and see what's going on. For now my objective and goal is to win something.

'All I'm thinking about is winning.'
