Paul Robinson has shed alarming new light on the extraordinary lengths Tottenham have gone to ignite Tanguy Ndombele’s career at the club.
The former England international, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, claimed his former club have provided the 23-year-old with his own personal dietician, chef and personal trainer as well as “every opportunity” since his blockbuster transfer last summer.
Robinson has hit out at Ndombele after his “unacceptable” stats in last Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Burnley, when did not complete a single sprint at before being withdrawn by Jose Mourinho at half-time.
The Spurs manager publicly criticised the France international after the match, telling Sky Sports he “cannot keep giving Tanguy Ndombele opportunities.”
When asked for his assessment of the £56million summer signing from Lyon, Robinson told Football Insider: “You can understand why the manager has criticised him. Mourinho’s comments were pure frustration.
“He has been given a dietician, a chef, a personal trainer – every opportunity to make the best out of himself. Putting in a performance like that, he has chosen not to.
“You never know what you are going to get and some days he does not look like he fancies it and that has been far too often.
“The manager is putting his arm around him or using the big stick but nothing is working. Mourinho is frustrated because he knows the boy has talent.
“The minimum requirement is maximum effort no matter how much talent you have got. The stats do not lie and they are unacceptable.”
Ndombele has made 27 appearances this campaign but was an unused substitute as Spurs crashed out of the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Red Bull Leipzig winning 3-0 to complete a 4-0 win on aggregate over last season’s finalists.

Now here is interesting stuff that was not known before, he is basically pampered and does not deliver. But because is Jose that called out his laziness he is the worst manager ever. Is these kind of benefits to one set of players that affects others and overall team performance. The guy needs to earn his keeps.
