Ahead of the much-anticipated Manchester derby at Old Trafford this Saturday 6th November, City manager Pep Guardiola has spoken about the passion he has for electric vehicles, sustainability and the electrifying atmosphere of a Manchester derby while taking part in a stunt with Nissan to light up the streets.
Commenting on the need for a more sustainable future, Guardiola said: "We have to try and give a better world to the next generation and I think electric cars are a huge step forward in terms of sustainability. When you first taste one (an electric vehicle) it's difficult to turn back. I've driven one for the last two years and it's great."
On the topic of the first Manchester Derby to be played in front of fans for two years, Guardiola said: "Football drives emotion but emotion drives football. At the end of the day, all we are looking for is to give emotion to the people because that emotion then feeds back to the players. It's unique."
In a rendezvous with ex-Formula E champion Sebastien Buemi, Guardiola was at the wheel of the new Nissan Ariya all-electric SUV, while Buemi drove a modified Formula E car covered in electroluminescent paint - which through sensors in his gloves reacted to his excitement levels and dynamic driving.
The Swiss driver was pleasantly surprised by Guardiola's passion for EVs - "I'm not sure I would have believed it in the first place but he (Pep) really drives a LEAF and loves it. He was telling me he charges the car in the parking lot when he arrives at the training ground. It's true the electric cars are peaceful and very easy to drive. The fact you can charge it more or less anywhere is really cool."
The stunt was designed to demonstrate the thrill drivers feel behind the wheel of Nissan all-electric vehicles.
Football fans will be expecting a similarly thrilling Manchester derby at the weekend - City go into the match third in the Premier League, five points off the summit, with under-pressure United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looking to continue his side's recovery from a 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Liverpool in October.

So Ole, hope you dun make the same mistake of counterpressing to try to gain possession or upper hand. The fact is man utd dun have the players that is deligent, has good concentration and willing to keep the ball. We have plenty of those like Bruno and pogba who like to take risk with a single pass. Soak and counter suit utd. MC will have the bulk of possession so when utd gets the ball , break quickly against their high defense line. 433 or 343. Fernandes won't get free role but play flat with Mctom and fred. I prefer VDB in CM then Bruno plays RW. if Bruno play CM , RW shall be Rashford or greenwood.

I pity Ole. He will lose this match to Man City. And lose the next to Chelsea. Ole will come under severe pressure after these losses.
