Manchester United great Peter Schmeichel and former Liverpool star Michael Owen have clashed on live TV over a comment in relation Ole Gunnar Solskjaer .
Owen has hammered United following their 1-0 defeat at Bournemouth on Saturday, something which has left United 18 points behind league leaders Liverpool.
This led to Owen claiming that City manager Pep Guardiola or Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp would get more out of the United side than Solskjaer has this season.
"I'm a patient person myself but if Jurgen Klopp or if Pep Guardiola were manager of Manchester United, then I'm certain you would have seen a huge improvement with what they've got,” Owen told Premier League Productions.
"You look at the other two teams - Guardiola and Klopp get the best (out of them). You name a player out of those two squads that hasn't got better under the management, under the guidance of them.”
However, Schmeichel was quick to counter that point in the broadcast which is only seen outside of the UK.
Interrupting Owen, Schmeichel said: “I have to disagree a little bit with that.
"I think Jurgen Klopp, he's got very, very few players in his team that were there when he started. He's got (Jordan) Henderson."
Owen chimed back in: “What was Henderson like five years ago? Everyone was laughing him out of town, now everyone's saying he's world class."
Schmeichel added: “(That's) five years in. Now, Guardiola in the first year wasn't great, people forgot that. He changed the whole back five, he didn't play (Vincent) Kompany in the second year, didn't play him at all.
"Obviously he came back in the third year but he changed the whole back five, he bought players like Bernardo Silva in. He has changed that team a lot and it has taken him time to get to that point.
"Now, Ole's starting point was nowhere near what Guardiola came into Manchester City with."

when klopp came in, even without a proper preseason, everyone could see the energetic display, gengen pressing, it made it easier to get the players that he needed, because he was doing something positive. Mane snubbed mou for klopp, nobody competed for salah with him, everyone thought he was a nobody, nobody was sure what firmino was a 9 or 10. those guys owe klopp everything. when guadiorla came in, you could see the neat triangular passes, good ball movement, possession football, that encouraged better players to come to his team and now look at him he transformed that team within 2 seasons. what has Ole done to suggest that he will get the best out of Sancho, rice, Werner or any of the names he wants to sign. schmeichel needs to be blunt and sincere, you can't keep supporting Ole because you guys were once team mates. if martial, rashford and some of those players were in Dortmund, we would be trying to sign them for 200 million.

your understanding of the game is limited my mate,if as manager you allowed to bring in quality and blend with youth ,those players they contribute 70% what to do on the field and and as a manager you do the rest that's why you find Barca if Messi is not playing or Ronaldo is not playing at Juve the managers isn't much they can do beside to struggle,at United There is Pogba it has been obvious that he can't lead the club forward even in the field of play he is just as ordinary as the other inexperienced players who look upon him hence he wants to go to Juve ,where there is Ronaldo,Barca,Messi, and Real Kroos,Modre and Hazard .
