Mauricio Pochettino is having a meeting with Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy in the capital on Friday and there could be plenty on the agenda.
One meeting a fortnight ago led to a follow-up dinner on the night of the Champions League draw last Thursday between Pochettino, his assistant manager Jesus Perez, Levy and an unnamed board member.
"It was very good. We talked about everything," admitted Pochettino. "We needed to have a conversation last week and this week the same, it was very positive, the most important thing is to help the club and the team perform and be on the same page.
"How important the communication is, and to communicate in a good place always helps.
"Nothing has changed in our personal relationship. Sometimes our vision in the professional side cannot be the same or sometimes can have some disagreement, but the most important thing is the personal relationship is still strong.
"This morning he showed me a picture that we took on the last day at White Hart Lane where we are together with our coaching staff and his family and he said, 'Look, our personal relationship is still there'.
"But that doesn't mean that we don't have some disagreement in our professional vision but the most important thing is we care about the club, we care about the fans and the team and we do the best thing for the club."
Pochettino admitted that he and Levy would be meeting again in London this Friday, presumably at either Levy's other office at the club's Lilywhite House offices or at the stadium itself alongside. Perez is likely to be present again in order to clear up any lost in translation moments.

As a Spurs fan after reading his comments, I got the sense that poch will leave the club if things not going well. Because 2 meets up meaning there's something is not settled. And why Perez with unnamed board member is there? Is there anything that he kept?...

Before mane’s contract extension last season he was on less than 100k a week, pretty sure spurs could’ve afforded that

Are you asking why better players go to teams that pay more? Can you not think of any reason why that might be a stupid question?

Doesn’t Spurs have a higher net spend than Liverpool now over the past few years?

Feels like losing the CL final made him really depressed, since then he's been not the same.

He says this every year. Imo, it's different for him and the squad this year because they actually spent a lot of money on players.

Transfer fees are paid in installments but wages aren't. My guess is a club that can afford to pay high wages is richer thus more successful and prestigious.

Every manager does stuff like this at some point. You just have to grit your teeth and move past it.

Did what they had to win after going 1-0 up very early. It was a controlled and professional performance from a team that was head and shoulders above Spurs in the league.

They were, but spurs were even worse. Didn’t turn up and couldn’t even be arsed to play

Why does he always belittle his team? I don't understand.

Spurs can afford more than 50k lol so that clear nonsense, especially given Klopp had been chasing him since he was at Salzburg & they'd met then, that was a big reason he joined. Also Rodgers said Spurs offered Siggy more wages & that's why LFC lost out on him, it just comes down to how much you want the player, lots of your players are now on good money... You lot can't play the paupers after this Summer's spending anyway, Poch can't talk like this with any credibility anymore.

Because net spend doesn’t show the correct strength of a squad or the buying power of a club. Pochettino is saying that Spurs doesn’t have the same spending power as the other top 6 clubs and you try to refute that with the old but but but net spend.

He needs a new challenge.

Tbf there was a 120m swing just this summer, so it wouldn’t surprise me now.
