Pogba admits the 'cunning' of Kante: 'He says he doesn't cheat but he does'

Paul Pogba has described international team-mate N'Golo Kante as someone who 'cheats a lot,' before hailing him as the most beloved player in the history of football.

The Manchester United midfielder often plays alongside Chelsea midfield dynamo Kante for Didier Deschamps' World Cup-winning French side.

And Pogba told beIN Sports how the diminutive Parisian, 30, uses his 'cunning' to win, as well as praising his technical ability and attitude.

He said: 'He cheats a lot. A lot. At card games, board games. Honestly, I'm telling the truth. He cheats. He says he doesn't cheat, but he does. He uses cunning. He's a smart kid, N'Golo. But it's okay. You have to love him.

'He's the most beloved player in the history of football. You've got to love him, you cannot hate him, it is not possible. He is humble, kind, professional. He will never complain, he will work.

'He's got everything. He's good technically, with a good passing quality, and he's everywhere on the pitch. I even say he appears out of the ground! You don't see him, and - poof - he's out! He gets the ball, he has the finish. He's everywhere.

'To have a player like that by your side, what more can you ask for?'

Kante could not help Chelsea beat his former club Leicester in the FA Cup Final on Saturday, as Youri Tielemans' wonder goal sealed a 1-0 victory for the Foxes to mark the first ever time they have won the competition.

But Blues boss Thomas Tuchel underlined his side had plenty to play for in the remainder of the season, with 'three cup finals coming up'.

Chelsea face Leicester again on Tuesday in the Premier League as they chase a top-four place, followed by Aston Villa on the final day and then Manchester City in the Champions League final on May 29.

Kante was superb in the Champions League semi-final win against Real Madrid and the German has backed him to win the top European prize at the club.
