Porto centre-back Felipe Monteiro is close to becoming Atletico Madrid's first signing ahead of the summer transfer window.
There have already been advanced negotiations between the two parties, but the agreement will not be announced before the Portuguese side's last game on May 25.
Lucas Hernandez has already left for Bayern Munich, while Diego Godin is also set to depart Atletico in June, and the Brazilian defender will become the team's first signing in defence.
After three years in Portugal he has managed to become a vital cog of the Dragons' backline, while he is also part of Tite's plans for the Selecao.
Felipe was a Real Madrid target a couple of seasons ago, but Los Blancos were not eager to meet his 50 million euro release clause.
His current contract runs until 2021 and Los Rojiblancos have managed to negotiate his price down ahead of the summer transfer window.

@lawrence n I don't see why age should be the issue here. 29 isn't bad & besides, his got experience and notably good at dead ball situations such as headers

Tomorrow we will see how they develop pique and company against the Liverpool front, but between this, militao and telles that has also been named for the athleti, they took a jug of salah and company. Tomorrow we will see and even those are unstoppable red, but if not, it is clear that one does not give level
