Lionel Messi is far and away the most famous player on Inter Miami's roster but - perhaps surprisingly - he is by no means the richest.
After a remarkable career that has seen him win the World Cup, Copa America, 10 LaLiga titles and eight Ballon d'Ors, Messi has raked in a fortune of a reported $650million.
But while that means he won't have to work another day in his life when he hangs up his boots, he doesn't even have the most money in his own locker room.
Incredibly, he is beaten in that respect by a 23-year-old teammate at Inter Miami, whose family history of wealth in Ecuador makes him a billionaire.
Leonardo Campana, formerly of Premier League side Wolves, joined Inter Miami on loan in 2022 before going on to sign permanently and become a regular in the starting XI.
He is the son of former professional tennis player-turned-politician Pablo Campana, who even represented his country at the 1996 Olympics.
Pablo went on to become the Minister of Commerce in the Ecuadorean government, and is currently CEO and founder of Millenium S.A - a real estate developer in his native country.
Leonardo is also the great-grandson of legendary Ecuadorian soccer star Gabriel, who won six league titles in his home country in the 1920s.
It is a female member of the family, though, that has earned the serious cash - with his grandmother Isabel Noboa one of the most prominent businesswomen in Ecuador.
Latin Trade report that she has agricultural, real estate, industrial, commercial and tourism businesses, and studied at both Harvard and the University of London.
The family's worth is said to be north of $1billion.
