Raphinha and Ousmane Dembele's futures are 'linked with Barcelona only planning for one next season'

The futures of Ousmane Dembele and Raphinha are intrinsically linked, it has been reported on Friday.

Barcelona are looking to continue their Xavi Hernandez-led revolution this summer with the club keen on refreshing their squad but the financial troubles that have hampered them for the last few years remain.

With Barcelona's financial situation not having improved significantly, Mundo Deportivo report that there is no possibility both could be in Catalan's squad for next season.

The salary demands of the two players, respectively, makes that impossible for the club while Leeds United's Premier League survival ensured Raphinha's asking price remains much higher than the £21m reportedly agreed between the two clubs in the event of their relegation to the Championship.

However, it is said that Dembele, who arrived from Borussia Dortmund in 2017, is believed to want to depart the club for Paris Saint Germain.

It has been reported that the Frenchman has put his house up for sale in Spain having rejected Barcelona's 'final' contract offer. The club denied to Mundo Deportivo that the player has put his house on the market.

Dembele and Barcelona have endured a tough relationship since his arrival, with his signing coming in the aftermath of the controversial sale of Neymar to PSG.

Mundo Deportivo report that Dembele was taken out of the side in January to allow to find a new team before being reintegrated by Xavi who is believed to be a big fan of the French forward.

The reality of Dembele not wanting to renew with the club, around a month before his contract officially expires, appears to be dawning on the institution with them now seemingly seeking out alternatives.

The door to Raphinha would only be left open, Mundo Deportivo report, in the event of Dembele leaving.

The Spanish paper say the Brazilian is keen on a move to the club with his agent, Deco, himself a former Barcelona player, in communication with the club over a potential move.

With Leeds not having been relegated, however, the price they can command for the player will be significantly higher than that were they to have gone down.

With Barcelona's financial troubles continuing, it remains to be seen whether or not either player are at the Nou Camp for next season.
