Match Report
After back-to-back defeats against Barcelona and AC Milan, Real Madrid have returned to winning ways on Saturday – doing so in emphatic fashion. Carlo Ancelotti’s side breezed to victory against Osasuna, eventually running out 4-0 winners at the Santiago Bernabeu.
It a mixed first half for Real Madrid, who opened the scoring after 34 minutes courtesy of Vinicius Junior. However, they had lost Rodrygo Goes and Eder Militao to injury before this point – and in the case of the latter, there are serious fears that he has ruptured his ACL for the second successive season.
Five minutes before half time, Jude Bellingham would finally score his first goal of the season after a wonderful assist from young defender Raul Asencio, who had replaced Militao following his injury.
Into the second half, and two goals inside 10 minutes allowed Vinicius to complete his second hat-trick of the season. He did wonderfully well to collect an Andriy Lunin pass for his brace, before being set up by Brahim Diaz for his third of the afternoon.
The result takes Real Madrid back to within six points of Barcelona, having now played the same number of matches. However, the league leaders can re-establish the nine-point buffer with a win at Real Sociedad on Sunday evening.

this season is not over. we are real madrid. lets everyone remind that. . but one thing is for sure. Mbappe is the wrong man at wrong time for us. Either he play as a proper no 9 or bench. that left wing is already owned by best player in the world.

Mbappe left PSG for Real Madrid to be in Vinicius' shadow. 😂😂😂🙊
I don't pity for him 1 bit, He did exactly the same thing to Neymar Jr. He was spoon-fed in PSG, everyone has Ego here in Real Madrid and very soon they'll let him be & stop trying to force him to play well not like He ain't even getting chances

I wanted Mbappe at Real Madrid before now because I wanted to check something. At PSG, Mbappe was bigger than the club. Then the club signed Messi to form a fearsome trident of Messi, Neymar and Mbappe. But Mbappe became insecure and saw competition where he should see synergy. Mbappe had been threatening to leave the club, but the coach shunted him to the CF position to accommodate Messi at RW and Neymar at LW. Mbappe complained of playing out of position and resumed his threat to leave the club. The club had to listen and gave him a contract that literally meant he owned the club. Mbappe had the power to take decisions and so he effectively subdued Messi. PSG built their team around Mbappe, at the same time, Argentina built their team around Messi. Argentina went on to win the World Cup final in Qatar against France and Mbappe. Now Mbappe is finally in Real Madrid and is once again asked to play the CF position. This time the club is bigger and Mbappe cannot complain. Vinicius is occupying his preferred LW position and Mbappe is struggling in the CF position. Mbappe is a good player and will come good.. But provided Vinicius remains in the club, Mbappe will most likely never be Real Madrid's best player let alone the world's best player. His clear path now is the national team. Vinicius will enjoy coming from the wing, a position Mbappe enjoys too. Had Mbappe started learning and adapting to the CF position from PSG, he would have settled into the position by now. And most importantly, Messi would have helped to hone him into the perfect CF at PSG. 🙆
