Real Madrid and Benfica have reached an agreement over the transfer of the Raul de Tomas to the Portuguese club, with the move expected to be completed imminently.
The Lisbon club are set to pay a sum of over 20 million euros for the forward even though Los Blancos began negotiations with a 35-million-euro asking price.
The deal is only missing the final agreement between Benfica and De Tomas, which is not considered to hold any complication.
It would be Real Madrid's sale this summer, and will provide some much needed income following a flurry of recent signings.
Raul de Tomas was one of the top-performing strikers in LaLiga Santander last campaign, scoring 14 goals for relegated Rayo Vallecano.
The desire of the player was to fight for a place at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu but the club preferred to cash in on the player.
It remains to be seen if the agreement includes a buy-back clause, first option or percentage of a future sale.
