Real Madrid have stepped up their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham, according to reports in Spain.

The England international has been on Madrid's shortlist for over a year now, with discussions over a potential transfer for the 19-year-old dating back to last summer.

And it seems Los Blancos are gearing up to launch a bid for the Bellingham at the end of the season, with talks advancing between the two parties.

According to Marca, Bellingham will be available next summer for £87.7m (€100m) - which Madrid will be happy to pay for the Three Lions starlet.

The Spanish outlet claim that talks began a year ago and have now progressed to the 'numbers stage', as they look to iron out a mega-deal for the midfielder.

Madrid see Bellingham as the final piece to their midfield puzzle, having already secured the services of promising talents Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga in the past two seasons.

Florentino Perez has been looking to create a midfield dynasty that can live up to the standards set by Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and Casemiro across the last decade.

The 19-year-old has proved to have talent, and maturity, beyond his years - encapsulated on Wednesday night as he captained Borussia Dortmund to a 4-1 Champions League victory.

Bellingham scored one, set up another and claimed the Player of the Match award as the German side maintained their grip on qualification for the knockout stages.

In doing so, he became the first teenager in Champions League history to score in three consecutive appearances, the first English teenager to start a game as captain of their side in the competition and the youngest captain to score in a Champions League match.

He's made 102 appearances for Dortmund and scored 14 goals since joining the Germans from Birmingham back in 2020.
