Real Madrid 'dissuaded from signing Haaland after due to Raiola's agent fees'

Real Madrid will take their interest in Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland no further after being put off by the fees of agent Mino Raiola, according to reports in Spain.

The Norwegian teenager has been a sensation this season, netting 40 goals for RB Salzburg and Borussia Dortmund this campaign.

Haaland has netted 12 goals in just seven starts since joining the Bundesliga side in the January transfer window after turning down strong interest from Manchester United.

And Madrid were all set to make a move for the striker this summer in a bid to bolster their attacking ranks.

But according to Mundo Deportivo, fees that will be owed to agent Mino Raiola along with the player's father has put Madrid off from signing him despite how highly they value the Norwegian in sporting terms.

Mariano Diaz and Luka Jovic have both been fringe players this campaign and  with both likely to be moved on this summer, Los Blancos would therefore still be on the lookout for a new striker.

The club are keen to help ease the attacking mantle of Karim Benzema, who has stepped up his goalscoring tally since Cristiano Ronaldo joined Juventus in 2018.

The news comes just a week after reports in Spain claimed that Madrid were in pole position to sign Haaland.

AS claimed Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joaquim Watzke is 'close' with Florentino Perez and that Raiola was desperate to move his client into the Real squad.
