Spurs face Palace

Following a seemingly endless international break, club football is finally back. To kick off the new round of Premier League fixtures, Tottenham travelled to Selhurst Park to take on Crystal Palace.

Spurs, with three wins from three so far, will be looking to remain atop the Premier League table for another week, while Palace will be looking to cause an early upset. Their hopes will be helped, however, with the issues that Tottenham have when it comes to personnel.

The trio of Davison Sanchez, Giovanni Lo Celso and Cristian Romero are all still in Croatia following their games for Argentina and Colombia respectively, and will be unlikely to feature against Chelsea either.

Additionally, Heung Min Son and Steven Bergwijn both picked up injuries on international duty ruling them out of contention, with the former not expected back until after next weekend.

As a result, the lineup seemed a little short of attacking creativity, something Spurs fans were quick to pick up on.

Tottenham fans react to their midfield

The chief problem for the majority of the lily-white support was the midfield trio of Oliver Skipp, Harry Winks and Pierre Emile Hojbjerg, all of whom are defensive midfielders by trade. As expected, they wasted no time taking to social media to vent their frustrations.

Will Spurs still be able to grind out a result with so many missing?
