Real Madrid's Kroos was 'transfer of the century' for Perez, says agent

German midfielder Toni Kroos has been heralded by the Real Madrid hierarchy as the 'transfer of the century', according to his agent.

The 31-year-old made the switch to Spain in the summer of 2014 having been one of Germany's leading stars to win the World Cup in Brazil and signed for £30million from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

Kroos found the back of the net on Tuesday night with a wonder strike from distance as his Madrid side beat Inter Milan 2-0 in their final Champions League group stage fixture to continue his impressive season.

He's gone on to make over 300 appearances for Real throughout his eight seasons there, becoming one of the most consistent and reliable players for Perez's side - as well as winning thirteen trophies to boot.

And Kroos' agent Volke Struth revealed that Madrid supremo has been blown away by the midfielder's progress in the Spanish capital and rates his signing as one of the best of all time.

Speaking to the OMR-Podcast, Struth said: '[Perez] is an unbelievably pleasant person with a great life story,' Struth said.

'He is entrepreneurial but remains human. He explained to me why Toni Kroos is Real Madrid's transfer of the century.'

Kroos has won thirteen trophies during his time in Spain including two La Liga's, two Spanish Cups and three UEFA Champions League's.

Following his three Bundesliga title's and one Champions League earned at Bayern Munich, he's become one of the most decorated players in the Madrid squad.

And despite heading towards the twilight of his career, Kroos is still proving his worth with the Spanish giants.

Kroos caused controversy last week after Lionel Messi's Ballon d'Or win, saying the Argentine's record seventh was 'not deserved'.

Speaking on his podcast, he said: 'It's absolutely not deserved.

'There is no doubt that Messi, with Cristiano, has been the player of the last decade, but this year there should've been others ahead of him.'

He also risked the fury of Cristiano Ronaldo by leaving him out of his all-time Real Madrid five-a-side team - picking iconic forward Raul instead.
