Piers Morgan has poked fun at Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag after Cristiano Ronaldo posted a picture of himself and Conor McGregor on Instagram.
The Portuguese footballing sensation and UFC superstar were seen sitting next to eachother during the 'Day of Reckoning' boxing event in Saudi Arabia on Saturday night.
McGregor and Ronaldo were seen chatting and joking during the event, as Anthony Joshua claimed an emphatic victory against Otto Wallin, while Deontay Wilder was beaten by Joseph Parker via a unanimous decision.
After the evening of action, Ronaldo posted a picture of him and McGregor in hysterics on his social media, captionning the Instagram 'Best caption wins!'
Morgan, who had interviewed the five-time Ballon d'Or winner before his explosive departure from Man United in 2022, subsequently took to Instagram to offer his caption, writing: 'Remember when Ten Hag said I was the problem at Man United...'
It was well documented that Ronaldo and the Dutch manager had fallen out during his final days at Old Trafford, with the 38-year-old admitting that he had 'no respect for Ten Hag'.
'I don't have respect for him because he doesn't show respect for me,' Ronaldo said before going on to claim that he felt betrayed by the manager.
'Some people, they don't want me here - not only the coach but the other two or three guys. Not only this year, but last year too.
'Honestly, I shouldn't say that. But listen, I don't care. People should listen to the truth. Yes, I feel betrayed.'
Following their power struggle, Ronaldo was axed by the club and subsequently moved to play for Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League.
Meanwhile, Ten Hag went on to guide United to their first piece of silverware in six years, yet, he admitted he had felt like Ronaldo had stabbed him in the back, admitting he didn't want to stay at United in his bombshell interview with Morgan.
‘In the summer we had one talk. He came in and said, “I will tell you in seven days if I want to stay”. Then he came back and said, “I want to stay,”' The Dutchman said.
'Until that moment (the interview) I never heard anything. He never told me, “I want to leave”.
‘The interview I think, as a club, you can’t accept. There will be consequences. To make that step, he knew the consequences.'
Despite that questions have been asked over whether the Dutchman is reckless or rutheless, having gotten rid of Ronaldo, David de Gea and ostracising Jadon Sancho.
United have endured a torrid start to the Premier League this season, dropping to eighth in the table, with pressure now mounting on Ten Hag after his side have suffered eight defeats this season and crashed out of the Champions League.

The English Media will always be what they are, covering their own and bashing the foreigners…. They axed Ronaldo cos he was stealing the spotlight from their average English players, today we have a Sancho who is disrespecting a full club and it’s coach and team mates for over three months but little have been said/done regarding that… Ronaldo walked out of a match and he was crucified for months till he left… We have a misfiring Rashford but nobody is saying anything about that, but all eyes have been on Antony over his lack of goals and poor form like he’s the only player playing badly at LOOSECHESTER DISUNITED!!

Erik Ten Hag used Cristiano Ronaldo to shift the attention of the public from his weakness, he was using Cr7 super power status to proof to the world that he's such a tough guy who can deal with anyone even if you are Cristiano Ronaldo or Messi, Ten Hag is not a good coach

You’re comparing a trash league to a big league. Both can’t be compared at all
