Rival fans are mocking Pep Guardiola by labelling him as 'Fraudiola' for the money he has spent at Manchester City, but failed to deliver a Champions League.
The Spaniard has failed in six consecutive seasons in Europe, despite enjoying plenty of success domestically, winning three Premier League titles, four League Cups, one FA Cup and two English Super Cups.
But City have been desperately chasing down Champions League success that seems to allude them crashing out in the knock-out each season.
In 2017, they were knocked out by Monaco in the last-16, 2018 they were beaten by Liverpool 5-1 on aggregate in the quarter-finals, it was then defeat to Tottenham in the quarter-finals the following.
In 2020, a quarter-final to Lyon was another set back, before in 2021 they reached the final but failed at the final hurdle with a 1-0 defeat to Chelsea.
Yet again this season, City have fallen short as they lost 6-5 on aggregate to Real Madrid in the semi-finals thanks to a 3-1 Real win on Wednesday evening.
It seems rival supporters are now questioning whether the 51-year-old has what it takes to win City's first-ever Champions League - most joining in on calling him 'Fraudiola' after their latest failure.
Especially given how much money owner Sheikh Mansour has spent since the arrival of Guardiola, in order to keep winning the Premier League, and go one step further to winning in Europe.
One fan said: 'Pep Fraudiola took over a Man City team that had won 2 League titles + FA cup in 4 years with KDB, Fernandinho, Sterling, Stones, Aguero, D.Silva etc.
'He spent extra Β£1bn on transfers but still cant deliver the UCL after 6 full seasons.
'Checkbook manager. Local Champion.'
A second made a meme, which was captioned: 'Pep Fraudiola asking sheikh Mansour for another 200million in July.'
Another insisted Thomas Tuchel is a better manager than Guardiola after winning the Champions League just six months after joining Chelsea.
The tweet read: 'Tuchel>Fraudiola. Tuchel did in 6 months what Pep could not do in 6 years.'
A third added: 'Useless substitutions... Fraudiola thought it was over at 6 minutes extra time.'
No manager has lost more Champions League semi-finals than Pep Guardiola now with six, that does include his previous clubs.
One fan responded to the statistic, saying: 'FRAUDIOLA! I'm never getting off this train.'
Another fan simply broke down City Champions League history under Guardiola, by tweeting: '2017: Loses to Monaco 2018: Gets destroyed by Klopp's Liverpool 2019: Bottles to Spurs 2020: Loses to Lyon 2021: Loses to Chelsea 2022: Bottles to Real Madrid Fraudiola.'

Well said Full Respect to Real Madrid. It was a great game. Unfortunate for us to end this seasonβs UCL hopes in that way but thatβs how football is sometime. Ngl I was somewhat surprised we went as far as we did this year again without a dedicated striker and also after losing Mendy and Torres. Hopefully next year we will come back stronger and pep will have the sense to finally replace Aguero, as well as Mendy and Torres.
I agree 100% with , I hope he adresses those areas in the market so we can try again next yearπ

he is more guilty of failing to properly replace Aguero and having the audacity to try and win so many competitions with out a hitman that scores at least 20 goals per season.... this is not Spain in the world cup or euros .... these are games against seasoned champions from thier own leagues and we create so many chances in the Premier league but for no one to finish π€£π€£ I'm still blue though and humble in deafeat, congrats again Real Madrid and Liverpool on making it to the finals π₯ππ

Gaurdiola is making mistakes by thinkng he can approach the champions league matches the same way he approaches premier league with the same tactics and the same pattern of play.. Only attacking without defending will never help you out in champions league and always playing from the back will cost him more during champions league matches...

Pep will always have haters. Because he is one of the most successful managers. More successful you are, the more people will be jealous.
How many time has he won de best manager award, he won it 2009 and 2011 that makes him overall best manager

he did the same mistake in Germany when he was coaching Bayern,he love spending all the time but what did he get? local champion,if not for Messi and co Pep might not win champions league
See two champions he won wit Barca was a scandal , 2009 semifinals against Chelsea and 2011 round of 16th and semifinals against Real Madrid was a good officiating in favour of Barca that makes him through to his 2 champions league glory

Madrid and it's cohorts(UEFA and it's Referees)will be beating their chest and be singing uhuru, uhuru, uhuru!!!bcos that's their game plan,to make sure pep never wins ucl so that his name will be muddled and his achievements underrated, using all possible means to thwart his efforts, from ruling his goals offside,to awarding opponents dubious penalties and even allowing mancity players to be harassed and maimed in the field of play, sorry to anyone Madrid tagged as enemy, sorry to Barcelona, sorry to Catalonia, sorry to pep Guardiola!!!

You just gave an unbiased assessment of the whole situation ππΏππΏππΏππΏ. I guessed he thought he would justify not getting a seasoned striker by winning but it didn't go his way.

this is unfair,he spent a lot and also won a lot of domestic trophies, they have dominated the league since then winning 3 and could make it four during his stint at the club, they might have not win the champions league but they are not far behind, PSG have spent more on players than man city since guardiola was appointed as city boss, I will blame players in the situation and not coach, they are leading by two goals and have less than 5 minutes to play and the players switched off, they never learn from PSG and Chelsea, they feel relieved and they got the shock of their lives
