Liverpool defender Andy Robertson claims his side's collapse from 2-0 up against Brighton to a 2-2 draw at Anfield felt 'like a defeat' on Saturday.
Jurgen Klopp's side were in complete control in their home Premier League clash thanks to first-half strikes from captain Jordan Henderson and Sadio Mane, but goals in each half from Enock Mwepu and Leandro Trossard earned Brighton a point.
The result puts the Reds three points behind top-flight leaders Chelsea - who won 3-0 at Newcastle on Saturday afternoon - leaving Robertson to rue the the two goals conceded and the two points dropped.
The left-back told LFC TV: 'In the dressing room it feels like a defeat. Being 2-0 up and giving away a lead, it's never nice.
'There's frustration. We couldn't have asked for a better start, we scored two great goals but we let Brighton do what they were good at.
'They started getting a wee bit confident. At half-time we needed to put it right and we didn't do that.
'When we're playing at Anfield and we're 2-0 up, we expect to come away with three points and we've not done that and that's why it's so frustrating.'
Meanwhile, Liverpool boss Klopp joined Robertson in showing his frustration at his team post-match, with the German hitting out at his team's body language and game management after going two goals up.
'I wasn't overly happy with the body language of some (players),' admitted Klopp without giving examples. 'We can get through periods of some games, but not against Brighton.
'The best way to defend would have been to have the ball (more) and do clever and smart things with it. We opened the door for them coming back and we paid the price.
'Brighton deserved the point. We were really good in certain moments but didn't play enough football. We didn't defend the half-spaces so the back line had to drop.
'Brighton are adventurous. People still don't respect the quality they have. They might not win 35 games a season but in 38 games they will give teams a problem each time.'
The Reds remain in second place but have now drawn three times in their last five Premier League games, with two of those stalemates coming at home.
Klopp and Co's tests do not get any easier in the coming weeks with the Reds taking on Atletico Madrid at home on Tuesday in the Champions League, with clashes against high-flying West Ham and Arsenal also to come in November.

Lucky hit, if he had another 100 tries he couldn't replicate that.

It is a defeat for sure because the lineup was poor. letting Robertson and Firminho play that long let to the team defeat. Robertson Sub for Tsimikas, Firminho sub for Jota and Konate sub for Joe Gomez or Joel Matip. Oxlade Chamberlain sub for Fabinho. This is what would have given the team a win. Robertson style of play is not so brilliant as compared to Tsimikas.

Liverpool cannot win this season perimer league because there cannot beat team like Brentford and Brighton .
Still a long way to go and we're only 3 points ahead. I don't think Liverpool played badly at all. Can we just give Brighton a lot of credit? They played so well and deserved the point. It was a courageous display by Brighton

It doesn't feel like but it's 100% a defeat and total humiliation after leading 2-0.All the celebrations for beating Man United 5-0 are now totally erased. Am embarrassed as if I was playing.
If I'm being honest, Liverpool played well but Brighton also showed good quality and played a great game in the second half. It was a game of close margins.

but they can beat bigger ones
unfortunately the small teams are more in number than the big ones meaning more points lost for Pool

The second goal was Robertson fault all he had to do was stay out and Trossard would have been off side

The midfield and defense needs to be fixed. We keep scoring, but we don't know how to defend the goals
