A new record has been set: Cristiano Ronaldo’s comment on Kylian Mbappé’s post is now the most liked Instagram comment ever.
The announcement of the French striker’s move to Real Madrid generated all kinds of reactions - including one from Cristiano Ronaldo which set a new social media record.
Almost 48 hours have passed since Real Madrid officially announced the signing of Kylian Mbappé. The news prompted reactions across the board on social media and continues to be a trending topic even now.
Among those who took to social media to voice an opinion was Cristiano Ronaldo, whose own move to the Bernabéu in the summer of 2009 draws many parallels with Kylian’s. There was not an empty seat left in the stadium when Madrid presented the Portuguese player 15 years ago. Over the next decade, he went on to break a host of club records, becoming Madrid’s all time top goal scorer with 450 goals in all competitions.
Cristiano wishes Mbappé well at Real Madrid
Cristiano hopes Mbappé has a similar impact and wished him well during this new stage of his career. “My turn to [eyes]. Excited to see you light up the Bernabéu” with a bicep and football emojis” read the comment which Cristiano left on Kylian Mbappé's Instagram post.
The Al Nassr player’s reaction hit a new historical record on social media just over 48 hours after its publication. It is the most liked comment across all social media with a total of 4.1 million likes - one of the most liked posts in the history of Twitter/X, outstripping the 3.5 million thumbs up which Barack Obama’s tweet about the tragic helicopter accident which took the lives of Kobe and Gianna Bryant in January 2020.
Mbappé's arrival among the publications with the most likes on X
Meanwhile Real Madrid’s official announcement of Kylian Mbappé's transfer became the second transfer announcement with the highest number of likes on the social media platform now called X ( formerly Twitter).
The club’s publication gained a total of 923,000 likes on the day of the announcement, falling short of reaching one million so-called hearts in X, positioning itself as the second publication that involves a signing in the history of the social media network with the highest number of likes.
The first place is occupied by the return of Cristiano Ronaldo to Manchester United, announcement by the Red Devils that at the time reached 1.8 million likes on the day of the announcement in 2021.

2 Things you should know about Ronaldo. 1.Ronaldo doesn't break Record. Record break Ronaldo. 2. Ronaldo doesn't follow Record, Record follow Ronaldo

Even if Ronaldo had won 12 World Cups and 12 Ballon D’ors i would still choose Messi over Ronaldo. If Ronaldo and Messi are on the pitch, any football fan with no bias will definitely choose Messi.

Messi has no influence, only on the pitch. Remove football from Messi he has nothing to offer.

Ronaldo too got that influence from football, stop sounding biased. Without football, nobody would likely have known if CR7 existed or not. I'm not a messi fan but I hate to see people type comments like kids. Even you, we don't know you because you aren't a footballer bro. Sports gave all of them the platform for fame & influence, be rational when you type.
