Wayne Rooney officially hung up his boots on Friday in order to become Derby County's head coach on a permanent basis, which has led to plenty of tributes flooding in for England's record goalscorer.

However, some have looked to poke some fun at Rooney in a friendly manner, such as his former Manchester United teammate Rio Ferdinand.

"Morning Wazza... Enjoy ya breakfast," Ferdinand's tweet read, accompanied by a Photoshopped image of an overweight Rooney leaving a caravan with a plate in his hand.

Rooney will be looking to turn Derby's fortunes around, with the club currently sitting 22nd in the Championship.
