Real Sociedad goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli was left furious after a 2-1 defeat to Barcelona, believing that the LaLiga Santander leaders' winner should not have been allowed to stand.
Jordi Alba struck past the Argentine, but Ousmane Dembele was accused of blocking the goalkeeper's view of the shot from an offside position.
"Dembele interfered with my view for the second goal, it's very clear," the shot-stopper said after the game
"I don't understand how it wasn't given as offside.
"They should have looked at the move, at least out of respect.
"It shouldn't be the case that such a clear offside isn't looked at by the referee."
His teammate Aritz Elustondo agreed.
"Rulli says that Dembele distracted him for the second goal, we don't understand how VAR hasn't been used," the defender stated.
"It's here to help and sometimes it doesn't help us or do anything."
Coming just after Juanmi's equaliser, the strike from the defender proved to be decisive.

Is he some sort of mad or what... Its his job to assess the opposition positioning in D area and accordingly position himself.. Going by this all the freekick goal.should have been disallowed then... 🤣🤣

barca always had and have 12th men and that's the ref.. this is a fact.. most teams complained about ref when they play against Barcelona.. just the last match b/w Barcelona vs A Madrid

when you lose a match you all start blaming others that's failure, accept defeat and go back on the drawing board, you can see the position of Dembouz and defenders it was quite clear that he was not distracting the goal keeper, VAR is not stupid. who are you to literally judge the trained personal when you actually know nothing sit down, be humble learn how distraction offside traps works....

This goal was disallowed because VAR considered Varane distracting the goalkeeper view, yet Varane was clearly trying to avoid the shot and not to intervene !!

any time an opponent beat Barcelona is always a good game without bad officiating,but when ever Barcelona defeated an opponent is always robbery,i don't know when people we start using there brain and stop behaving like 4 years old children,in football rules nothing like a player block ur view when a short is being played,look at free kick,many players we block ur view including ur own players and d goal we still stand,so wat rubbish is he talking about?

there was a pause to inquire from VAR. the decision was negative. that Dembele was in an offside position did not mean he interfered with the action. rather there was clear attempt by Dembele not to interfer and VAR interpreted this correctly. haters of Barcelona should allow the club to be. every action is interpreted mischievously to discredit the club. human error resulted in wrong VAR call that ensured that Mancity did not progress in UCL while Spurs benefited. there will always be such errors in football but giving a club a bad name to nail it should be discouraged. the principle at Barca is to win fairly at all times. Viva Barca!

If he distract the keeper, yes the goal should not ne given.. But can u define distraction? Was Dembele talking with him or purposely trying to cover the ball movement from him going sideways to hide Alba movement..? No.. If he is offside but not touching the ball, its not an offside... He is just giving excuses after conceding the goal.. Cry Baby...

if a player it's offside and he distracts the keeper then it's an offside not unless he touches the ball
