A Saudi Arabia fan has revealed a new look that echoes similarities with football's famously hated half-and-half scarf after he stripped off to demonstrate his switch in national support.
Saudi Arabia were unable to double-up on their opening World Cup match heroics against Argentina as the Middle Eastern nation slumped to a 2-0 defeat with Poland on Saturday.
Poland's Robert Lewandowski secured all three points for the European side as the Barcelona striker scored his first-ever World Cup goal at the age of 34.
But it is the appearance of Lewandowski's name in amongst the Saudi fans inside the Education City stadium that has got supporters talking after the match.
A viral social media video shows a passionate Saudi Arabian fan pulling off his shirt after watching his team concede, to reveal he is wearing a Poland shirt underneath.
The football-loving supporter proceeds to bang the Poland badge on his chest before jumping round in circles as onlookers watch on.
While wearing a shirt emblazoned with Lewandowski's name, the fan decides to show his love for the superstar striker as he screams: 'Lewandowski! Robert Lewandowski!' while those around him lament conceding a second goal of the match.
Saudi Arabia were unable to replicate their stunning comeback against Argentina as Poland's European prowess shined through in the heat of the Middle East. They will take on Mexico in their last group game and must win to stand any chance of qualiying for the knockout stages.
Poland will meet Argentina in the group's other remaining fixture with Lewandowski and Messi both aiming to steer their team to tournament progression as the end of the group stages edge nearer.
Saudi Arabia will be hoping to secure a second victory of the tournament on Wednesday knowing they will progress to the knockout stages if they win and Argentina beat Poland.
The Middle Eastern nation have been one of the World Cup's best supported teams so far with thousands of Saudi Arabia fans able to make the short trip over to Qatar to cheer on their team at the global event.
