Brazil international Savinho has described the toll Manchester City's one-sided defeat to Arsenal has taken on him and his team-mates.
City's season reached a new low after Pep Guardiola's side dropped to a 5-1 defeat at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday. Savinho assisted Erling Haaland to cancel out Martin Odegaard's opener early in the second half before Arsenal then turned on the afterburners.
The winger - who was part of the team that lost 4-0 at home to Tottenham earlier this season - endured an even grimmer day as City shipped five goals to fall 15 points off the Premier League title pace. Any hope of a title defence now looks well and truly over, and Savinho's post-match words seemed to capture the sombre atmosphere in the City changing room.
"It was very frustrating and sad. I don't think any player likes to lose, especially with that scoreline," he told Telemundo (via the Manchester Evening News). "It was a very heavy defeat today."
Although new to the team after his summer move from Troyes, Savinho has swiftly taken on a prominent role in the City XI. And his accountability after the game perhaps pointed to the mature attitude that has won over his manager.
"The responsibility lies with all players," he added. "Thank God I have a good personality for playing, for understanding the game and what it asks of me, so I think I've been helping the team, but I'm really sad about today's defeat."
The young star remained optimistic despite Arsenal's resounding victory over City. Sunday's resulted marked the first time in 22 years that the Gunners have scored five goals in this fixture, moving them within six points of table leaders Liverpool.
Savinho went on to say City must now take their season "game by game" with a fifth straight league crown seemingly out of the question. Liverpool will once again move nine points clear if they beat Everton in Wednesday's Merseyside derby, 18 points ahead of City in fourth place.
City are now setting their sights on the FA Cup with a fourth-round clash against Leyton Orient this Saturday, and the competition appears to be their best chance at lifting a trophy this term. They'll also suit up in the Champions League knockout stages, though a two-legged affair with titleholders Real Madrid threatens to bring an early halt to their European campaign.

Nunes has no creativity. He gets the ball and instead of trying to take on the defender. Nunes just always passes the ball back.

The moment I saw Nunes in the team list I knew City is in trouble. Pep is man city's problem at the moment. The players are so exhausted. Fodin can't run. defensively he is zero. KDB looks 40, Akanji is like a tractor. Then Kovacich runs like a 40 years old
