Sheffield United have expressed their interest in keeping Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson next season, manager Chris Wilder has confirmed.
Henderson is coming to the end of a two-year loan spell with the Blades and his stock has soared as a result of some terrific performances.
The 23-year-old has kept ten clean sheets in the Premier League this season, only Nick Pope of Burnley has kept more, and is expected to travel with England for this summer's European Championship.
Henderson's form has raised questions over his long-term future at United with first-choice shot stopper David de Gea penning a new a contract in September.
Wilder admitted he wants to keep the goalkeeper next year but conceded that decision lies solely with United.
"I have left it with Manchester United," he said. "We have expressed our interest in Dean coming back next year.
"But I don't want to keep pushing that button.
"He needs to focus on a big 10 games coming up and possibly more in the cup and international games too."
Henderson's teammate Billy Sharp conceded the goalkeeper wants to play for Manchester United.
However, he admitted that his preferred destination would be Sheffield United if that isn't possible.
"He wants to come back. He wants to play for Man United, obviously – he's not going to lie – but if he can't do that he wants to play for Sheffield United," Sharp said.
MEN Sport understand Henderson does not want to be a back-up at United next season and is prepared to go out on loan again if he is not promoted to first-choice.

Man United should give him new contract and leave him with Sheffield united for 1 more year.. Henderson will be great to our squad, but not at this moment. we have De Gea and Romero already.

Better he stays in Sheffield United fr another season then cm back to his parent's club later in future
Yes that’s good for him, but if de gea stays at Manchester United for another 3-4 seasons it’s better for Henderson to just leave for good. He’s to good to be back up.

selling de gea would be a better option that will help funding a move for a RW
Bruz.., Henderson Is Good But Still Not In The League Of De Gea. By The Way.., Glazers Have The Money.., Let Them Fork Out It Themselves. We Don't Have To Sell Players To Fund Any Future Recruitments.

From his perfomances this season, he deserves to be playing as a first choice GK for a club n country...but De gea deserves another season he is still a great goalkeeper with experience that we will need next season, we have stability at the back now so another loan move to Sheffield would be ideal..
Bruz.., I Agreed With You. That's Exactly What I Am Saying.., But Henderson Might Not Want To Be Loaned Out Anymore. Rather The Case Of Either Play Him Or Sell Him.

I think all agree that we send him on loan for one more year and then make him our no.1 in 2021-2022

He should be there for one more season then he can come back to Manchester United because the last time I checked we can't just get rid of DDG because he is still one of the best in the Business

I Afraid That If Dean Henderson Is Not Promised 1st-Team Football Next Season.., He Will Ask For A Transfer. I Don't Really Blame Him.., At 23... It's About Time For A GK To Play Regularly For A Team That Will Be Able To Give Him The Change To Do It.

Let him decide between Man Utd and Sheffield Utd
He wants Man Utd of course but the problem is DDG is still here... So if Madrid bid for De Gea in summer ole will let him leave and Dean will come
