Giovanni Simeone, son of longtime Atletico Madrid manager Diego, marked his Champions League debut with a moment that he's not soon to forget.
Napoli ran rampant against Liverpool on Wednesday, with the Argentine striker scoring his side's third goal in their 4-1 win against last season's finalists.
Finding himself in the right place at the right time to get on the end of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's pass, Simone slotted the ball past Allison to extend his side's lead before half-time.
Overcome by emotion, the former River Plate star collapsed to the ground in euphoria after scoring and appeared to kiss his own arm as he was surrounded by his teammates.
Though his performance against Jurgen Klopp's men may have marked Simone's first Champions League appearance, the 27-year-old has been dreaming of taking part in the competition since he was a teenager.
Simeone had previously revealed that, aged just 13, he had the Champions League logo tattooed on his arm, much to dad Diego's chagrin.
Speaking to the Guardian last year, Simeone laid out the plans that would finally come to fruition tonight.
'I was 13 when I got my first tattoo,
'You're supposed to be 18, but I was such a fan of the Champions League that I got the logo done at 13.
'My dad didn't want me to. And my mum said: "Why?" I said: "Because the day I play and get my first goal in it, I'm going to kiss the tattoo."'

When Giovanni Simeone was 13 he got the UCL logo tattooed on his arm, much to the anger and dismay of his parents. His excuse? Promising that he would kiss it when he scores in the competition. Tonight, on his UCL debut, he scored against Liverpool and kissed the tattoo. 💙 LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON!

And it took him 14 years(approximately)to achieve this dream. Never doubt yourself people. You are capable of achieving the "unachievable" but it all starts with you and your mindset.💯
