After being put in temporary charge as Real Madrid coach, Santiago Solari attended his first press conference on Tuesday and suggested that Los Blancos need to show what they are made of.
The Argentine will make his debut as coach on Wednesday evening as his side travel to Melilla for the Copa del Rey knockout.
"The idea is to go to Melilla and play with two balls [show strong character]," he said.
"The group are hurt, but very eager to get started and to turn the situation around.
"It's a group of champions and warriors.
"We have to go out and play. To compete, try and win with this group of champions.
"I am very excited and very satisfied.
"Coaching Madrid is a great opportunity."
Solari was then asked if he could be the new Zinedine Zidane, who also coached Castilla before his promotion to the first team, but the Argentine was eager to avoid any unnecessary comparisons.
"Leave Zizou in peace," he continued.
"He is one of Madrid's greatest ever figures.
"There are no adjectives to describe him, he must be left in his greatness."
Finally, the new interim coach spoke about his objectives and whether Brazilian youngster Vinicius Junior would see more opportunities to play now.
"We are all passing through, in life and in this profession," he explained.
"The important thing is the day to day.
"The important thing is the desire, not only for the coach, but also the players.
"It's important what you do in every moment on the pitch, every minute.
"Vini is another player. He is a young lad and is very talented.
"There are no players in the first-team squad that don't have talent."

He's a very good coach but I think he'll face the same problems as Lopetegui. The thing is, Real Madrid players are a bit tired; you can't sell the team's inspiration without bringing in at least another and expect positive results. Mark this,......Madrid will continue this poor run of results until reinforcements arrive; not even the reappointment of Zizou in all his prime can change it. Good luck Solari.

ZIDANE LEFT BEFORE RONALDO AND REAL MADRID ARE STRUGGLING WITHOUT ZIDANE IF ZIDANE WAS THERE THEY WOULD STILL BE IN A WAY BETTER POSITION. RONALDO'S OBVIOUSLY A BIG MISS BUT HE COULDN'T HAVE CHANGED THE 5-1 RESULT ANF WITH HIM THEY LOST 3-0 LAST SEASON IN 1ST EL CLASICO AND FINISHED 3RD IN LALIGA LAST SEASON. THEY ARE MISSING 50 GOALS A SEASON WITH HIM BUT ZIDANE LEAVING WAS THE PROMISE OF DOWNFALL.
