Manchester United appear to have suffered an injury blow after Scott McTominay was spotted leaving Old Trafford on crutches after the win against Newcastle.
The midfielder was involved in a collision with Matty Longstaff in the opening few minutes of the 4-1 win against Steve Bruce's side on Boxing Day but appeared to run off the knock as he managed to last for the rest of the half after wincing following the challenge.
"He's done his ligament in the knee, probably," Solskjaer said. "I don't know how bad it is, so let's see. The boy has got the biggest heart of the lot, he played until half-time and you stiffen up after. We might have to find out tomorrow to see how it is.
"When they knocked together but you see the attitude of the kid and everyone, to be fair, in the beginning of the game. Not sure if he's gonna be ready for Saturday [against Burnley], probably not, but we've seen him heal quickly before."

Solskjaer needs to learn how to be managing his players against injuries........early sub would have prevent Tominay from aggravating the injury but Solskjaer had to wait until he completed the first 45minutes of the game

I hope it’s just precautionary. Can’t afford to lose him for an extended period. He’s been one of our mainstay in the midfield. Even with Pogba back we need all the bodies to be up and running. We made easy work of Newcastle today, let’s kickstart from here. #GGMu.
