'Sorry for your loss' - Laporte apologises to FIFA 20 star for causing blunder

Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte has apologised to Twitch superstar Edwin 'Castro1021' Castro for leaving the streamer red faced during a FIFA 20 pack opening.

Castro - who boasts over 1m Twitter followers and over 78m views on Twitch - was attempting to find one of the recently released Team of the Year items in a pack on FIFA 20 to over 100,000 live viewers on his channel.

EA Sports announced the team, which features Man City star Kevin De Bruyne , but only three players were up for grabs on Monday; Lionel Messi, Sadio Mane and Kylian Mbappe.

The FIFA pack animation gives plenty of clues as to which player will emerge, displaying the colour of the card, the national flag of the player and his position.

Therefore, when Castro's pack displayed a blue flair and a French flag, the streamer thought he had finally ended his wait to get his hands on one of the coveted items as the only French player available was Mbappe.

"Let's go! I got one! Mbappe!" he screamed during his broadcast on Twitch . However, he soon realised the player in the pack was Man City defender Laporte.

"What the f***? Why is it like that? No dude, f*** off," he added.

The clip quickly went viral and Laporte responded to Castro on Twitter, apologising that his FIFA item caused such confusion.

He wrote: "Sorry for your loss bro" with three laughing emojis.

FIFA and Man City fans loved Laporte's response and questioned why Castro - who supports Manchester United - could complain about gaining the "best defender in the world".

Others suggested Laporte should copy the streamer's reaction the next time he finds the back of the net for City.
