Sunderland and Portsmouth fans flocked to Wembley in their thousands for the final of the Checkatrade Trophy.
The two former Premier League clubs have fallen on hard times but success in the lower league cup competition has given their fans a chance to celebrate.
A record breaking crowd of 85,021 packed into Wembley for the clash, the second highest attendance of any fixture in Europe this weekend, behind Barcelona vs Espanyol.
And fans relished the chance to visit the home of English football.
The Checkatrade Trophy has been derided since the inclusion of second string top flight sides but recent final attendances suggest the competition is alive and well.
Pompey and Black Cats fans flooded Wembley Way, turning it into a sea of red, white and blue.
Fans posed for pictures outside the iconic stadium before making their way inside the ground for kick off.
The spectacle comes a day after Sunderland fans took over Covent Garden and Trafalgar Square on Saturday.
The match is Sunderland's first visit to Wembley since the 2014 League Cup final, which they lost to Manchester City.
Both sides are vying for promotion from England's third tier, with Sunderland currently fourth, a point behind Portsmouth in third, although they have two games in hand over their cup final rivals.
