A suspect in the killing of Tottenham defender Serge Aurier's brother Christopher has reportedly handed himself into French police.
Christopher Aurier, 26, was fatally wounded in the early hours of Monday morning after being shot outside a nightclub in Toulouse and he was later pronounced dead in hospital.
His killer initially fled the scene and was believed to be on the run but, according to French outlet L'Equipe, a man turned himself into Toulouse police on Tuesday evening, less than 48 hours later after the murder.
It is claimed the man handed himself over to local police at around 6pm local time on Tuesday night and 'confessed to having killed the victim'.
Local residents called the police after finding a man lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to his stomach outside Kin's nightclub.
It is claimed by another French outlet, La Depeche, that the motive behind the incident may have been to do with a 'love dispute'.
Christopher was also a footballer, in the French fifth division with Toulouse Rodeo. He had a trial with Championship side Brentford back in 2011 but was not signed.
Like Serge, he came through the ranks at RC Lens but did not make the breakthrough to the highest level.
Christopher was 'known to police for small crimes', local media sources said. In 2017, he was arrested on suspicion of attacking a prostitute in Lille in northern France.
In 2017 Lille cops arrested him after a 20-year-old local sex worker claimed two men had stolen her phone and credit card in December of the previous year.
The two men were reported to have threatened the woman in her flat with a fake handgun and tear-gassed her when she refused to hand over money.
Tottenham will allow Serge to decide whether or not he is ready to play against Newcastle in their Premier League fixture on Wednesday night.
Serge, 27, progressed at Lens before signing for Toulouse. The Ivory Coast international then secured his big move to Paris Saint-Germain.
The right back had only played in Tottenham's 2-1 north London derby win over Arsenal hours before his brother's death.
His future at the club looked bleak under Mauricio Pochettino but has worked his way back into the team since Jose Mourinho took over.
The Telegraph reported that Tottenham will grant Serge compassionate leave to return to France if he wishes, meaning he could miss the trip up north to face the Magpies.
A Tottenham statement published earlier this week read: 'The Club is deeply saddened to confirm media reports that Serge Aurier’s brother passed away in the early hours of this morning.
'Everybody at the Club sends their sincerest condolences to Serge and his family. Our thoughts are with them all.'
Serge has recently found himself in the spotlight for breaching the UK government's coronavirus lockdown rules three times.
He has won 62 caps for Ivory Coast and won the Africa Cup of Nations in 2015 during his career. With PSG he was a two-time French league champion.

Why doing such a harmful madness to someone, why we all knows one day we will leave this world. can't be killing someone, when you really knows that one day, you will also die
