The Japanese player, who is on loan at Mallorca from Real Madrid, said: "It's the fans' decision if they want to whistle me" as the team lost 5-2 to Barcelona.
Takefusa Kubo was one of the protagonists in Saturday's game at Camp Nou. The Japanese player, who is on loan at Mallorca from Real Madrid, was whsitled by the home crowd every time he received the ball - in clear reference to his past at La Masía. But the teenager took it all in his stride and looked confident throughout the match - he was one of the best players for the visitors despite the result. "They are within their rights to whistle if they want. I made my decision [to join Real Madrid]", Take told Movistar after the game.
Difficult game: "We felt we started well but in the sixth minute, after a mistake, we were already behind. Conceding a goal so soon against a big side makes everything much harder".
Good individual performance: "Luckily, I was able to play the full 90 minutes. I did everything I could, but it wasn't enough".
Being whistled by Barcelona fans: "That's the fans' decision. I made my decision and they are within their rights to whistle me if they want to. In a way, I probably deserve it. In any case, there were some people who applauded me and that gave me strength".
How did it make you feel to be whistled by Camp Nou? "They see me as a rival, not as an 18-year-old kid who could be doing things more or less well. I'm happy with that".
Mallorca struggling away from home: "We struggled last week and again tonight. Now we will be facing Celta and we'll be trying to get something positive from that game".

remember that Barca is in the wrong here, they almost ruined his career by signing him illegally and it was real Madrid who gave him a chance back at Spain, go cry somewhere else Barcelona

Little kid was good last night, but you cannot blame the fans, & it’s nice that he recognises that & isn’t to fussy about it !!

He is only 18, and he talking like a matured person and also he is playing like a matured person. Its a shame that our fans whistled on a 18year old kid. Let him grow and let him play where he want. He is so talented, someday he is going to be an upset for barca.

Look if Kubo come back to Barcelona we don't have space for him as there are De Jong, Arthur, Alena, and Puig who will be there for a long time. But Real Madrid has promised him to let him play in the first team next season plus gave him a higher salary so as a footballer we all want to play in the highest leaque. Kubo made the right decision.
