Aguero at the Etihad against QPR, Newcastle's incredible four-goal comeback over Arsenal, Crystanbul – which is the most iconic comeback?
With Alexis Sanchez the unlikely hero of Manchester United's incredible comeback against the Magpies the other weekend – the Red Devils coming from two goals down to seal a 3-2 victory – how do other classic Premier League comeback encounters compare?
Manchester United 3-2 Newcastle | October 6, 2018
Things only seem to be getting worse for Manchester United, and what a fitting way for the disgraced Portuguese manager to finally be booted out of Old Trafford at the hands of old rival Rafael Benitez?
Newcastle were up 2-0 against Man United by half-time with many thinking that this was it for the coach – until the Red Devils emerged from the dressing room, scoring through Juan Mata, Anthony Martial and Alexis Sanchez to earn the 'Special One' a bit of respite. At least for the time being.
Manchester City 3-2 Queens Park Rangers | May 13, 2012
Manchester City only had to win on home turf against relegation-threatened Queens Park Rangers to secure the Premier League title over fierce city rivals Manchester United based on goal difference, but the Sky Blues capitulated early in the second half.
QPR lead 2-1 in the 66th minute, and with Man United winning their own game against Sunderland, City would have to concede the title.
But Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero managed to net in the dying minutes of stoppage time to produce a result that no Hollywood screenwriter would ever have been able to fabricate, clinching the title from right under the noses of Sir Alex Ferguson and co – who, by the full-time whistle of their own game, thought that they had won the title.
Bournemouth 4-3 Liverpool | December 4, 2016
The Cherries battled back from 2-0 down at half-time and 3-1 behind with 15 minutes to go against the visiting Merseysiders, with Nathan Ake's 93rd-minute winner sealing an inconic win.
It was the beginning of the end for goalkeeper Loris Karius who conceded four goals despite his team leading 2-0 heading into the break, and Bournemouth ended Jurgen Klopp's 12-game unbeaten run.
West Brom 5-5 Manchester United | May 19, 2013
Romelu Lukaku spoiled Sir Alex Ferguson's party when he scored a hat-trick against Manchester United during the Scot's last game in charge of the side, though the Red Devils had already sealed the league title.
The champions went 3-0 up through Shinji Kagawa, Jonas Olsson's own goal and Alexander Buttner's fine finish, but the Baggies' James Morrison reduced the deficit – and substitute Lukaku made it 3-2, before Robin van Persie and Javier Hernandez put United 5-2 ahead.
Lukaku's late double and Youssouf Mulumbu, however, denied Ferguson a winning send-off.
Manchester City 2-3 Manchester United | April 6, 2018
Manchester City had already won the league once in fairytale fashion in a way that involved their city rivals, so why not they do it again?
Pep Guardiola's side had the chance to win the league in 2018 in an arguably more spectacular manner in which they won their 2012 title when they hosted Man United in April in front of their own supporters. A win would decide the title for the Blues - but football wasn't so kind to City this time.
The league leaders were up 2-0 by the break but once Man United emerged after half-time, they scored three goals to dampen City's party and delayed title celebrations for at least a week.
Crystal Palace 3-3 Liverpool | May 5, 2014
Liverpool blew the league title in 2014 when they lost at home to Chelsea, but had the smallest chance of winning the championship based on goal difference - until they headed to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace.
In a match dubbed as 'Crystanbul', Liverpool were up 3-0 at half-time only for the home side to stage their own comeback, with the final result of 3-3. Both Luis Suarez and the red half of Merseyside were in tears by the end of the fixture.
Newcastle 4-4 Arsenal | February 5, 2011
Newcastle pulled off an incredible comeback after being 4-0 down to title hopefuls Arsenal at St James Park in 2011, shocking the Gunners to the core.
Arsenal were 3-0 ahead inside the first 10 minutes, with Robin van Persie heading in their fourth, and Joey Barton slotted home penalties either side of a strike from Leon Best before Cheik Tiote's screamer of an equaliser three minutes from regular time.
Leicester 5-3 Manchester United | September 21, 2014
Manchester United let a 3-1 lead slip at the King Power Stadium in the game where Jamie Vardy announced himself to the Premier League, with a Robin van Persie header and a magical Angel Di Maria chip putting the visitors ahead.
Leonardo Ulloa's header reduced the scoreline before Ander Herrera's back heel extended United's lead to 3-2, but Leicester fought back through a David Nugent penalty, an Esteban Cambiasso equaliser, a Vardy goal and finally a Ulloa penalty to secure the win.
Chelsea 3-3 Manchester United | February 5, 2012
Manchester United staged an incredible comeback after finding themselves three goals down before half-time at Stamford Bridge, thanks to goals from Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez.
Chelsea squandered a three-goal lead on home turf to gift the Red Devils a well-earned point, after Jonny Evans scored an unfortunate own goal amid opening strikes from Juan Mata and David Luiz.
Norwich 4-5 Liverpool | January 23, 2016
Norwich and Liverpool contested a nine-game thriller in a classic encounter during the 2015-16 season.
Roberto Firmino opened the scoring before Dieumerci Mbokani equalised, and no side was able to keep a lead for very long – as the other would score almost immediately after.
Sebastien Bassong equalised deep into injury time to make it 4-4 and that looked to be the final score before Adam Lallana struck in the 95th minute to finally determine the rollercoaster ride.
Tottenham 5-4 Leicester | May 13, 2018
Tottenham sealed third place by besting Leicester 5-4 at Wembley on the last day of the 2-17-18 season after finding themselves 3-1 down right after the break.
Braces from Harry Kane and Erik Lamela buoyed Spurs to victory with the England international nabbing the winning goal in the 76th minute, cancelling Jamie Vardy's 73rd minute striker that levelled the scoreline to 4-4.

This is the greatest comeback in Premier League. Half Time 0-2 Full Time 5-2 Rooney and Ronaldo was amazing in the second half and at last United win quite easily. I think All Football forgot this match.

Sorry but the United vs Newcastle comeback was horrible. Look at the facts. How can you be 2-0 down at home where you have the advantage.... Rather than a comeback, it was just scraping a win that should have been comfortable and not warranted a comeback in the first place. If it was vs Us, Liverpool or City then I would have said it was an amazing comeback but against Newcastle who have been having a crap season, a comeback isn't impossible. We we're 1-0 down and came back to win and that was at St James park, winning at your own home against a clearly less superior team is not impressive. Them being 2-0 up away is the only impressive thing from the match to take away.........

The greatest Epl comeback ever? it has to be QPR vs Man City, it was very dramatic, the title decider and the fact that it was completed in the last minutes add more value to it, the environment was fantastic and it was very very emotional to City fans. Aguero will always be remembered by City fans for this, he became the legend after that goal
