The 7 players who could replace Hazard as Chelsea's penalty king this season

Frank Lampard will need to appoint a new penalty taker at Chelsea this season following Eden Hazard's summer departure.

The new Real Madrid signing was the Blues' spot-kick king ever since taken over the responsibility from the now head coach following his departure in 2014.

The Blues were involved in three penalty shootouts last season and there are quite a few in the squad who would no doubt like to take on the job this campaign.

However, Lampard may only have a handful of players to choose from as there are a number of players who have never taken a penalty throughout their career.

So, who could be Chelsea's penalty taker for the foreseeable future?

Here we take a look at the players who could take on the job.

Jorginho

The Italian international opened his account for the Blues on the opening day of last season at Huddersfield Town with a nonchalant penalty.

Jorginho also scored from the spot in the penalty shootout victories over both Spurs and Eintracht Frankfurt, although he crucially missed in the Carabao Cup final defeat against Man City.

The midfielder will be one player who would like to take on the role but it all depends on if he will be in Lampard's strongest XI.

David Luiz

Luiz is another one that stepped up in the penalty shootouts last season and was successful from 12 yards out.

Often seen around free-kicks outside the box, the Brazilian may want to take on penalties as well following Hazard's departure.

He'll most definitely be a contender to take them.

Willian

Willian could be the man to take on Hazard's No.10 shirt this season and his penalty responsibilities.

Scoring from the spot back in January against Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup despite offering Gonzalo Higuain the chance to net his first goal for the club, the player has taken them before on a couple of occasions for the Blues.

The only question mark over Willian taking them permanently is regarding his place in Lampard's starting XI this season.

Ross Barkley

The England international is also very good from the penalty spot after taking them for Chelsea and England over the past year.

Scoring a brilliant penalty against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League semi-final shootout, he also chipped in a cheeky Panenka against Switzerland in the UEFA Nations League back in June.

Barkley has previous experience of taking a few for Everton when Leighton Baines wasn't on the pitch.

Cesar Azpilicueta

Certainly a contender for the job and he himself will no doubt put himself forward for it.

Tammy Abraham

The youngster will be hoping to force his way into Lampard's starting XI this season after his prolific form at Aston Villa last term.

Abraham scored goals for fun at Villa Park and six of his 26 strikes actually came from the penalty spot.

Again just like a few of the aforementioned players, it really does depend if he will be on the pitch on a regular basis under Lampard this season.

Olivier Giroud

Giroud will be hoping for better luck in front of goal in the upcoming friendlies after failing to net on the tour of Japan with chances few and far between against Kawasaki Frontale and Barcelona.

The striker has plenty of experience of taking penalties throughout his career, although the vast majority of his 16 goals came during his time in France.

Someone who would like to take over from Hazard for this season, it's going to depend on whether or not Lampard starts him.、
