This weekend marks the final bit of action before the transfer window slams shut on Monday, October 5.
After 11pm on Monday night, Premier League clubs will only be able to do business with EFL clubs, leaving them extremely limited to the deals they can conclude.
Therefore, it is expected much of the top-flight will have their business wrapped up before players jet off for international duty.
With the window extending into the season, managers have had the opportunity to assess the quality of their squad in competitive action.
That has meant some deals have been rushed through, or adversely halted.
With that in mind, Mirror Sport have picked out 11 players that could still influence their club's business before Monday's deadline:
The Spaniard has gone from No 1, to seemingly surplus to requirements in the space of two months.
After ending the season in between the sticks for Frank Lampard, his early season form meant Chelsea were forced to splash, to bring in competition in the form of Edouard Mendy.
The £20m signing made his debut in the Carabao Cup defeat to Chelsea and is likely to retain his place against Crystal Palace.
Recent reports have suggested that Kepa could be sent on-loan, so the £72m signing must prove to Lampard he is still needed within his Blues squad.
Jose Mourinho infamously claimed he was “scared” of his defending, during Amazon’s All or Nothing series.
He said: “I am afraid of you as a marker. Because you are capable of doing a sh*t penalty with VAR. So I am telling you already, I am afraid of you.”
Aurier has since lost his place in the starting Xi, with Matt Doherty’s arrival signalling the end of his time starting for Spurs.
The Ivory Coast international did play the full 90 minutes against Chelsea and with Spurs lacking options behind Doherty, he will hope to be kept around to force his way back into Mourinho’s plans.
The curious case of Toby Alderweireld.
On his day, unquestionably, the best of Mourinho’s options at centre-back. But after starting the first Premier League game of the season, he has been forced to watch from the bench.
Davinson Sanchez and Eric Dier have been given the nod and with Spurs planning on bringing another centre-back before October 5, his future looks under threat.
The Belgian will be desperate for a chance to not only prove, Milan Skriniar isn’t need, but also to show he deserves a starting berth.
The clamour for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to make a signing of any note has now reached fever-pitch.
But despite being linked with forwards for much of the window, a number of ex-Red Devils have imploted Solskjaer to beef up his options at the back.
United have conceded five in their opening pair of Premier League games, with Brighton unfortunate to only net twice.
A solid showing against Spurs this weekend, could soothe the nay sayers and ensure that he will be lining up alongside Harry Maguire this season.
Like Victor Lindelof, Luke Shaw will be looking for a solid performance in the game just one day before the window closes.
Shaw was arguably United’s best defender against Brighton, but that has done little to stop speculation linking Porto’s Alex Telles with a move.
That deal could happen and so Shaw will want to show Solskjaer that he is up for the battle to keep hold of his spot.
Surprisingly, N’Golo Kante has been linked with a Stamford Bridge exit this summer. Both Man United and Inter Milan have been touted as potential destinations, despite Kante playing every minute of the young Premier League season.
One reason for the speculation could be the continued pursuit of West Ham ’s Declan Rice. At first glance, the pair play in a very similar position with the feeling two won’t go into one.
A star turn against Palace, couldn’t convince Lampard that Rice doesn’t need to be on the menu on Deadline Day.
The Real Madrid loanee was the odd man out in Arteta’s starting midfield against Liverpool at Anfield.
Mohammed Elneny and Granit Xhaka were given the nod, with Ceballos only coming off the bench.
Arteta is desperate to add attacking creativity to his midfield and should Houssem Aouar arrive, it could leave Ceballos fighting for a role in the Spaniard’s starting XI.
Ian Wright has urged Arteta to play Ceballos further forward, he could convince the Arsenal boss that he can provide the attacking flair, instead of Aouar.
Alli was finally given a chance in the Europa League demolition of Maccabi Haifa on Thursday night. And the England international grabbed it with both hands, putting in an impressive showing as Spurs ran out 7-2 winners.
Spurs have already rejected bids from PSG, but he’ll want to stake a claim to be a regular starter under Mourinho again.
The arrival of Thiago Alcantara adding further riches to an already quality central midfield group at Anfield.
It does however mean that one of Jurgen Klopp's regular starters could be sacrificed.
With Henderson and Thiago both doubts for the game against Aston Villa, the Dutch international will be looking to show Klopp he’s too vital to be taking out of his title chasing team.
While a move for the likes of Sancho and Dembele could mean Greenwood competes for a central position, it also could lead to more time on the bench for the 18-year-old.
He will be hoping to show that United don’t need to rush through another signing, while also sending a message to England boss Gareth Southgate after his omission from the latest squad.
This feels like a pivotal spell for the Brazilian forward. With Sergio Aguero on the sidelines, Jesus has a chance to become the striker many thought he would be upon his arrival into English football.
If he stutters, could Pep Guardiola sanction a last-minute transfer for someone like Lautaro Martinez?
He’ll be hoping that thought doesn’t even cross his manager’s mind.
