Black Friday is here. The United States made it fashionable and it has been exported to practically the entire world. Many companies take advantage to give discounts on their products and increase their sales. We wanted to move this 'Black Friday' to football and we asked ourselves: What have been the most profitable signings in history?

Roberto Carlos. Fabio Capello managed to take the Brazilian to Real Madrid in the 1996/97 season in exchange for 900 million pesetas (about 5.5 million euros). Roberto Carlos' performances for Los Blancos were incredible.

Gerard Pique. Formed in the junior categories of Barcelona, in 2014 he signed for Manchester United, the club where he would be trained as a professional. Four years later the Catalans decided to re-sign Pique in exchange for only five million euros. According to 'Transfermarkt' his current market value amounts to 40 million.

Pantic. Another of the players who triumphed in the Spanish League in the late twentieth century was Milinko Pantic. The midfielder came to Atletico a stranger and ended up being key in the double-winning season. The rojiblancos paid 75 million pesetas for him (about 450 thousand euros).

Varane. Considered one of the most promising centre-backs in France, Real Madrid paid Lens only 10 million euros for his services. Today, his market value is infinitely higher than that figure.

Asensio. Real Madrid closed the signing of Marco Asensio for 3.5 million euros in December 2014. Three years later his value has multiplied and in his last renewal, his buyout clause was raised to 500 million euros.

Dani Alves. Possibly one of the most profitable signings in the history of football. Monchi had a good eye with the Brazilian and took him to the Andalusian team for 848,000 euros. Barcelona would sign him years later for about 36 million euros.

Paul Pogba. After his beginnings in France, Paul Pogba was recruited by Manchester United in 2011. However, the 'red devils' gave him to Juventus at zero cost. There Pogba exploded. In the 2016/2017 campaign United recruited the Frenchman again ... for more than 100 million euros.

Michael Laudrup. He signed for Juventus from Lazio. The 'Vecchia Signora' decided to let him leave for free and that's when he arrived at Barcelona - for nothing. An identical situation occurred when he signed for Real Madrid.

Juan Mata. One of the most promising players in the Real Madrid youth academy, the Spaniard wanted to make the leap to the first team but the club thought otherwise. That's when Valencia appeared and he signed for free. Three seasons later, in 2011, Mata signed with Chelsea after the Londoners paid some 27 million euros.

Dembele. The French striker was signed by Borussia Dortmund from Rennes in 2016 for 15 million euros. A year later, Barcelona paid 105 million euros to take him.

Radamel Falcao. One of the star players at Porto. The Portuguese side took the Colombian after paying River Plate 5.5 million euros in the 2005/06 season. Four seasons later Atletico paid 40 million euros for him.

BONUS: Cantona, Forlan, Henry...

Throughout the last decades we also find other names that fatten this list. Players like Henry, who came for less than 250 million pesetas. Ferguson paid that amount in 1993 for Eric Cantona to leave Leeds United. Or Ivan Rakitic: Sevilla bought the Croatian for 2.5 million in 2010 and Barcelona would end up paying 20 million.

Pirlo He signed for Juventus in 2010 for nothing. Also Diego Forlan arrived at Villarreal in 2004, the yellow submarine paying three million euros to Manchester United for the Uruguayan. Three years later, Atletico paid 21m for him.
