Tottenham news: UEFA rules leave Spurs with European football puzzle to solve for new manager.
Two goals from Harry Kane - who else? - ensured Tottenham ended their season with a flourish, beating Leeds 4-1 at Elland Road in a game that relegated the home side back to the Championship. It was the first away win since January.
In a season lacking memorable moments, this was a good day but even then it didn't represent much more than a farewell for many of the team that may well have their futures outside of north London, none less so than Kane. Despite the impressive display it wasn't enough to secure European football.
Spurs went into the final day of the season knowing that they had to better Aston Villa's result at home to Brighton. Unfortunately for Ryan Mason's side it wasn't to be as goals from Ollie Watkins and Douglas Luiz ensured Unai Emery secured a seventh-place finish.
That not only leaves Spurs outside of the heralded top four and Champions League spots but also the Europa League and Conference League places with eighth place not enough to secure any form of European football.
However, with Manchester City in the final of the Champions League against Inter Milan next month there are still places to be decided. Due to their finish as champions there could yet be another spot on offer should they be victorious in Istanbul.
Previous iterations of rules would mean that the top four spot was then dropped down to fifth place - in this case, Liverpool - and that would have a knock-on effect of giving a Europa League spot further down and so forth with Spurs then handed a Conference League place.
New UEFA regulations mean that the spot is instead given to the highest-ranked national league in the UEFA coefficient without an automatic group stage spot. This means that no extra position is then impacted outside of that and therefore nothing can be changed for Tottenham.

Haaland also scored 86 goals in 89 matches and 21 goals in 20 matches for Norway. Question should be, Could HARRY KANE score such goals from Norway??🤔🤔
